Mmmm, very impressive. A lawyer as Chairman (tick), then a Real Estate Agent, Musician from the 60's, a Financial Controller(tick), GM from a Oil Company (tick), another Accountant, a Painter & Decorator and a former 2UW Disc Jockey. Now compare this to the Roosters or Melbourne. Just saying.

That's pretty unfair really all jokes aside.
Think Rick Wayde who saved Wests as an administrator in the 80s mortgaging his house to fund the court cases against the League.

A couple of years ago, I attended the extraordinary meeting as a full voting member where by Wests would take over the Balmain leagues. I mean really a lot of emotion and these directors and the late Mike Bailey were actually quite sensitive to preserve Balmains identity in the JV and one could sense they were not happy Balmain didn't continue as a paying member and were mindful of not allowing a third party to interfere.

One thing for sure they love the club and are hell bent on protecting our connection to it whether we are WT, Wests or Balmain fans. That's all we have left really hence this passion.

What else could they have done differently lately. At the time Maguire was the best available high profile coach.
Imagine if we sacked Maguire as the media seemed to want. Can only imagine the vitriol would have been worse

Who needs professionals with business acumen when we have that good ole fashioned magpie passion…
Fact is our board couldn’t hold a candle to the boards of the successful clubs - its full of self serving fans that stuck around long enough to get a spot on the board and a photo…
There are members there that are the but of a long list of jokes in their chosen field - and yet they run our club… something they know nothing about.

Lee needs to find out who the grub is that leaked that board meeting and sack him / her , I have been on a board at-a bowling club and was a director for 6 years , golden rule you keep your business in house , never ever talk outside on things like special meeting , extremely poor form who ever the GRUB is and I repeat GRUB
