It was the board who stepped back and said to Tim, your football, you run with it.

We have Danny Stapleton who is the board's member on out Football Operations department. He's old Balmain, but really he doesn't seem up to it. Like most of the board.
We need a cleanout and to send Wests Ashfield that making profits but losing every season is not an acceptable outcome. WA seem very content to keep losing and making bad decisions as no matter how bad we are we keep increasing our membership and sponsorship $$

What did Crowe do when he took charge of Souths? He changed the whole mindset of a club that had been losers for 30 years. Thats what we need to do, Wests are losers , run by losers. They need to go.
Anyone who can't see that has their head up their arse.

But since Wests Ashfield own the club they also have to put it up for sale the club is already privately owned so someone has to come in sooner or later preferably sooner

Exactly. And that's what we need. Hit rock bottom and actually force through a complete rebuild of the club.

We've treaded water for so many years without winning the spoon and so never taken the drastic action required to steady the ship on a better path.

True , I cast see them selling either. I think we'll just slowly die like Wests and Balmain.

They helped each club out last 2 seasons obviously due to the pandemic but NRL does have to try and help out all clubs if needed no guarantee to save them but try and help them

Says a lot for the other clowns of the joint venture if Wests are losers.

Try and help? If in 5 years we're at 18 clubs and the likes of us are still at the bottom of the table I can't see much help coming.

I’m talking about financial situations mate the club itself has to sort that one out but if the club needs assistance in terms of money (not cap money) the NRL has to step in and provide assistance they did the same thing for the Titans a few years ago and each club received a boost due to the pandemic Tigers aren’t going anywhere mate

Exactly - Punt Sheens. But its true - i remember everyone on here a few years ago complaining that the board was always meddling in football operations. So the board hired Sheens to oversee all football operations and they stepped back to run the administration and financial side. Everyone hailed it as a masterstroke. Now everyone is whingeing that board should be sacked because of poor performance in the football operations section.

Pandemic is a different situation. They have said they won't bail clubs out anymore.
