WT Ownership, The Board & Senior Management - MEGA Thread

I don't understand this mentality.

What more do the muppets in the front office need to do to supply a foundation for Madge to succeed? The Board is stable, memberships and sponsorships are there, we can afford our complete salary cap and football operations budgets.

I was told the first grade side has never been funded so well, as the commitments made in 2021-2022. The Centre of Excellence is due to open this year. The Pathways program has been set in place and well-funded with lots of support staff.

If these support platforms are all true, it stops being about facilities and starts being more about coach, tactics and roster.

And you said yourself - you think Madge is somewhat hamstrung by roster management. But that's now under Sheens' jurisdiction since we punted Hartigan and Sheensie recalled Warren McD.

So if Sheens decides to punt Madge, that's also on Sheens - that he doesn't think Madge can work with the new systems to achieve success. Yes, then I agree a new coach would also be thrown into the meat grinder, but Sheens can no longer claim to be independent of those systems - he is now responsible for them.

If anything, front office has taken their hands right off Football Ops. You almost never from Lee or Pascoe any more, everything funnels in through Sheens. But still you think because of past mistakes we need some more front-office cuts? You feel the current planning system is no good? The CoE will not have an impact?

The ultimate irony is that the front office installed the bloke you now back to make the right call on Madge. So if Sheens is a good appointment, that was done by the front office.
They finally worked out Pascoe didn’t have a scrap of rugby league credibility after 6 years and made a good decision. Whoopdy doo!

All the other things you wrote I consider spin that you probably heard from the front office itself.

? So why not give Madge and the front office more time to work with the "unravelled" product?
Personally I would keep Madge on and allow him to work with the guys coming next year but our roster is still 3-4 rep quality players short.

Until we can attract the next Adam Reynolds or Selwyn Cobbo type game changers we’ll be stuck where we are.

This front office has proven to me time and time again they’re just not able to do that. Our reputation is mud.

Too much logic J - Sadly, Australia just elected a communist sympathiser, happy ending savant, with 33% 1st prefs and we are to believe that changing coaches for our nation will stop high petrol, food and housing costs overnight. We are a Nation of idiots thanks to the dumbing down of our education systems which are controlled currently by left-wing cartels. When it comes to footy - we are led by a media so intent on contriving controversy to fund stories that are so way over the top as to set narratives to run "he said she said" crap that we, the audience, have no idea of the truth! I used to love Australia but am becoming embarrassed by its dopieness.

Fact: Sack Madge we are dead for another 3 years. BTW Sheens will be 80 in 3 years. Maybe a bench 2/R if our cap is OK.!

He signed with another club while having more than 18 months on his then current deal with the warriors. His best mate would have known that....
And that's the reason why they no longer talk at all. A trusted mate sh** on him. I'm certain it wasn't a plan hatched by Pascoe to help his mate out.

No that wasn't the talk going around at the time.

The Warriors were ready to punt Ivan. I can't remember why but everyone was stunned. Also it was a late run to the grand final. Before that the warriors were looking fairly average from memory. Yes the Warriors are loyal now, but then they were ready to turf Ivan.

The balance sheet, the COE at Concord and the Campbelltown COE at the UWS are good indicators our front office is doing well. The onboarding of important staff in the Pathways Programme is also a result no doubt of the strong financial position of the Club. It's a well done from me.

I agree its a good indicator but it hasnt translated into good culture and good strategy.

The combination of Madge and Sheens needs to be given another season.

Im.sick of failure.

Lets continue to build the foundations.

Serious question.
Has the club gone backwards since Lee H arrived?

I say yes. He thought he was the next Politis but he is way out of his depth. It's a play toy for him on the weekends..
We lucked out again, could have been a mining magnate or a tech billionaire but no, we got a thin skinned Lawyer.

I disagree. With the COEs, the strong financial position and Pathways Programme, the foundations are in place for a long and successful future for the Club. Our Chair has overseen these off-field initiatives which imo are the most significant in the club's history. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it was our Chair who brought back Tim Sheens, the second last piece of the puzzle to be put in place.

Pathways programme and COE are weak arguments currently, when neither has produced Jack shit.
It's about the sustainability of our club long term. We've seen the shoots with the Balmain SG Ball and Wests HM sides this plus all the really good young talent from QLD, NZ and regional NSW. It's in the fledgling stage but give it time WTs will be the envy of the NRL with two COEs, strong juniors and the Inner West and Macarthur/Campbelltown districts.

Heard that in some iteration or another for 20 plus years.
Maybe they are finally right?

Never forget the tribute to Tommy game where Brooks handed the jersey to the ambulance chaser ..
this clubs a shambles

I did envision it but I hope I would be wrong.

My original point with Madge and Sheens was they both won a comp in their last 10 years in charge, but actually Madge made finals 4 times and Sheens 3, so Madge has a superior finals coaching record over Sheens in their last 10 years in the NRL.

Just as an aside also, Madge has an all-time NRL win rate of 49.4%. Sheens is 51.3%, but it must be noted that this includes the Canberra dynasty where he won 66.5% of matches. You can fairly say they are evenly matched in the win ratio, though Sheens was only 44.8% in the UK ESL and Madge was 75.7% with 2 years at Wigan.
