Tragic, the Board brought Sheens in for his expertise on football matters. One of the criticisms on this Forum by some is the Board and Pascoe insert themselves into football related matters where they have no background. Sheens is engaged by the Chair to do just that and now there is more criticism by some of the Board and Pascoe.

The moving on of Maguire although difficult on a human level, imo is a significant milestone in the club's history. If we can lure Ciraldo to the WTs, that will be the next milestone.
Replace a premiership winner with a rookie. Yep, sounds like signing a broken former origin player they call the Jet. Just another shy at one stump.

It was worse when Farah got shafted.

Madge, imo... wore out his welcome.
All the best to him.

Gold watch and a ham, take care.
You reckon Kimmorley wins more than 3 games with this pack of amateurs Demps? Ham on it? 😂

Ciraldo has been in a great system for years overseeing the transition of many of the Panthers' best young players to the NRL. I am sure he has rejected overtures (ours last year for example) to remain at the Panthers while less capable coaches were given NRL appointments While I can empathise with your disappointment with Maguire being moved on, he was never a great fit at WTs imo.

Ciraldo is also a former Menai Rooster and Sharks' player so our links to both the Panthers and Sharks are strengthened.

Just like Bellamy couldn't coach against his own players to get a win in origin. It doesn't matter who Ciraldo has to work with at Penrith if those same players are not at the this club his fate as a head coach will depend on the players he has to work with here - and they are nowhere near the level of what he us working with there and there is nothing to suggest that they ever will be.

Our club has a different view fortunately and this is the second time he has been headhunted. We must see something in his ability to warrant this interest.

I’m not too fussed about who actually coaches this mess, the club sets up all coaches to fail.

FWIW Ciraldo seems the best fit to bring juniors into grade. My main concern is the senior guys at the club are not winners and thats where habits are learned in the NRL. Secondly, other clubs just pick off our better juniors. Good luck Cam.

I just can’t see Ciraldo coming. He would know that losing clubs see him as a honey pot along with his skill and dedication as a defence trainer.
He’s far better off listening to the inducement talk and getting on with his job. His kids need their dad and their dad doesn’t need to be put through the meat grinder for the benefit of others.
Stay at Panthers Cameron Ciraldo and enjoy your job mate!!!

Plenty of comments in this thread seem to be made with next to no knowledge on what the responsibilities of a board are or how members of a board are selected.

While not making the finals hurts for every supporter, the board have done their job of ensuring we survive as a club.

Just a few short years ago we had major infighting, factions and were bleeding money badly.

Now we have a unified board and a club - which unlike many in Sydney - actually turns a profit each year despite not making the finals.

As a fan I'd rather see us set for the long-term than going broke and needing to move to Perth.

We're set to be in a very strong long-term position once we get our footy operations running better.

This does not fit the emotional "sack em' all" war cries but sums up where we're at.
