I'd take a few board members (particularly the chairman) being 'shuffled on' at this point. At least it'd be something.

I think Stapleton had been there the longest. I'm not sure what a reserve grade painter offers.

From what I found I think he’s been on the board since 2005. Not sure how he’s lasted this long but since under the current board structure Balmain do get to have one voice/vote on the board, that must be why he’s still on it.

In terms of board structure yeah he is. Since Balmain were on the verge of bankruptcy, they lost members on the board as well as Magpies got to own more of the club. I guess out of all of the Balmain reps, he was the best.

I don't think balmain has had an AGM in awhile hence Stapleton gets the gig from the balmain side of things
