The Magpies blazer brigade have been pathetic pigs at the trough since the 70s.
When I was a kid every time the old man drove past Wests Ashfield - which was often we lived there, could see, the club from our kitchen window and front yard... he'd start cursing them saying they didn't give a crap about the football side of things and were only in it for themselves.
He's been gone 21 years now but wouldn't be surprised nothing's changed.
That's my team 🙄

The "blazer brigade" will never take away the love of the jersey.

What is changing exactly? HBG still have directors on the WT board. HBG appoint who the independent directors are. They still control everything.

We don't know what is involved in the matrix or how Romero may have changed it.

Nothing has changed yet and we are very far from being removed from HBG.

Seriously, they’ve had 25 years to write a respectable set of job specifications for board members, and all they’ve achieved is created more board members.

Yea,

I am over so many riders of clubs and logos.

Real estate agents, politicians, businesses. Oh suddenly were the "NR1 fan" of XXX team.

That said, my local takeaway always has a proud St George poster and team. Guy is a St George nut and always displays even when they are doing crap. That I respect.


The whole we will just strap a logo on something. Man the worst was a local claw style vending machine/game had NRL Basketballs! I mean seriously, do they know anything about the sport. ...

They may be over qualified in comparison to the existing members but that’s an advantage isn’t it?

Yes! I remember similar with my parents saying the old blokes at Wests only cared about their bowling teams or some such thing and couldn’t really give a toss about the actual football side of things. It’s hard to believe it’s still like this after 50 odd years, especially when the people in those blazers are completely different. Seems to be embedded in club’s psyche or something, similar to the Yanks not wanting to let go of their precious guns, still stuck in the days of the Wild West lol.
 
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. Little snippet from todays Sunday Tele:

“SHOOSH II

Which former high-ranking NRL executive has inquired about joining the board of the Wests Tigers as an independent.”

Whoever it is would likely be an improvement from the current board members
