WT Ownership, The Board & Senior Management - MEGA Thread

Why not WT? It’s quite obvious that HBG are struggling to find new board members let alone neutral, gender specific board members.
They may be over qualified in comparison to the existing members but that’s an advantage isn’t it?
What do they know about running sporting clubs?

Maybe its Graham Annesley? The binnings just ain't enough for him. Wants to mess us up from the inside.

We already have one corrupt ex politician so why not another? After all they both come from the same side of politics.
If it ever happened my loyalty to the club would come under massive pressure

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. Little snippet from todays Sunday Tele:

“SHOOSH II

Which former high-ranking NRL executive has inquired about joining the board of the Wests Tigers as an independent.”

Whoever it is would likely be an improvement from the current board members
Crawford?

Hardly independent. People crying to get away from Wests and Balmain allegiances and then throw up names like Pearce and Whittaker.

Thought the same,
At least Pearce has a Brain I guess - and some corporate connections and top end etiquette
- Can't say the same for the likes of Burgess.

Can't speak on Whittaker
- He might have experience, But it was back before my time and a different game back then.

I have no problem with Allegiances, If there is the nous to back it up....
The problem I see, A lot of these Guys that do have Allegiances or Connected to the old clubs and what not - Don't have the skillset, Or any Skills at all.
- Even Stapleton, I'm yet to read anything that justifies his position...

Unfortunately, Their governance has been obvious to all and sundry of the last 1.5 Decades, and I have no faith in anyone associated previously....
The Cricket Guy they've barred from the joints was about the only one that looked like he be of any use to me.

I think it’s time for the club to improve its image and the best place to start this process is through stakeholder engagement. We need people highly skilled in this area as our history of stuff ups has highlighted.
And someone from a bank is the best person to get stakeholder engagement?

Why not?
I think those people could come from anywhere, and since we need 2 of them to be female, we’re fighting an uphill battle. We pissed off so many women that the NRL had to run a “we love women” program and start up NRLW.
Just because someone is “from a bank” or is female doesn’t mean they can’t do a great job.
Back in 2015 when the club needed a CEO, they devoted so much time and resources “searching the globe“ for an experienced sports administrator, couldn’t believe their luck they had found Pascoe in the next suburb.
People have 2 predominant skill sets, 1. Work, training and educational experiences. 2. Stuff they do outside of that. Variety skills.
Just saying, the club needs to collectively think outside its narrow focus.
My personal feeling is that those 2 women are over qualified. One of them recently got her company to budget for an $800m program.
We struggle to get repairs done for LO.

I didn't say anything about women. That seems to be your driving agenda.

If we are hiring on anything other than merit and suitability for the job, then I would reject it.

You mentioned we "need" two women. Why do they have to be a particular gender? Is this something the club has said themselves or is that your personal assessment?
