WTs 2013 trial matches

We should be playing an international team or 2 to help them prepare for the upcoming Worlc Cup….
I know Souths are playing PNG as a trial at Redfern Oval.
And in the past im pretty sure Balmain played more than i game against Internationals. I remember Balmain playing Italy in Mollymook.

Wasn't that a Wests Tigers trial? I seem to recall Benji Marshall getting injured playing against Italy.

Think it was combined WTs/BRET trial….vaguely recall the italian team....was great we made a w/end of it staying down there, beach and footy all rolled into one
Remember one of the main squads playing in the Magpies herbal world jerseys

NRL Draw to be announced late this week

The NRL Draw is expected to be released late this week at Rugby League Central.

A team of NRL Staff and a specialist Canadian based company regarded as world leaders in sport scheduling, Optimal Planning Solutions, is finalising the complex challenge of scheduling all dates and times for the first 20 rounds of the 2013 season.

“It is an enormous logistical exercise as we match the requests of 16 individual clubs against our contractual obligations, ground availability and the sports market in general,” NRL General Manager of Football Operations, Mr Nathan McGuirk, said today.

“There are 192 individual events to schedule across venues that involve multiple hirers as well as the importance of providing feature Premiership matches and representative games such as State of Origin.

“This is the first time the season will be scheduled in advance and it will give clubs and fans more certainty.

“20 rounds will be scheduled when the draw is released and the remaining six will be scheduled after round 16.

“We are very conscious of the expectation that is building around the draw and believe we will be in a position to release it by late next week.”

NRL General Manager of Football Operations Mr Nathan McGuirk said today that while the draw was close to finalisation there were a number of steps needed to ensure that there was the greatest possible alignment of contractual obligations and club requests.
>
“This has been the most complex draw process we have attempted,” Mr McGuirk said.
>
“The modelling so far looks really exciting but we are not at the point yet where we can finalise the draw and I expect that will happen next week.
>
“Our focus here is on delivering the best result and that is what we believe we can achieve.”

Honestly you have to laugh at Channel 9

They can't be bothered to play the Sunday games live and then they have the gall to reject the games offered by the NRL

Why didn't someone at the ARLC show a set and give the rights to Channel 7 or 10

Can we please start again with the IC and get some people on there that are more useful than a bull with tits :brick:

I wonder if clubs who struggled to get free-to-air this year were given a better run and 9 didn't want those teams?

Given they paid nearly $1B I think it's fair to say what teams they want on the TV

Think a lot of the money for the rights come from Foxtel and I can imagine that want better games as well. The 10 bid was the best for the average NRL fan without Foxtel as it was to show live free to air games on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Obiviously Foxtel didn't want this and put in more money to the bid with 9 and I imagine they want better games as part of this, you will probably find that they a getting some of the Sunday games that 9 wanted.

Sounds like BS given all the typos, but if on the money could be a dbl head with Manly & Roosters who are apparently due for Gosford on the 16th too
