Yes, we just saw the worst video referee decision ever!

I'm sorry, I just can't get upset about this since it happened to Manly and they deserve everything they get.

Love Bozo's comments this morning calling for Harrigan to be sacked. That's about as likely as Bozo standing down from the NSW selection panel…

Shocking decision, just like the forward pass that they missed a few minutes later. VR's are messing things up, which in turn is putting pressure on the man in the middle who are getting their confidence shot to pieces.

Hi everyone
Just heard on the radio that he has been dropped for next week.

Personally, we still haven't forgiven him for his penalty against Bruce McGuire in the 1989 Grand Final (and will probably never forget, either)!!

Story on SMH saying he has been dropped

If only they sacked Hartley in 1978 after his 7th tackle ruling in the Parramatta match.

Wests would have had Danzey in the final and would have won the comp.

and he never admits he got that one wrong despite there never being a similar decision against the attacking player in the game's history. what he ruled on that occasion was that McGuire used an off-side Canberra defender as a shepherd!!! It beggars belief and he was on radio this year again saying it was correct!!!

what he proved last night is that he does not understand what constitutes" separation" - and yet he is the bloke advising the rest of the refs on how to interpret that rule. He should be sacked from any role with the refs - not merely stood down for a week or two.

NOW THAT WAS THE WORST CALL IN HISTORY

and you people laugh at me when I say the comp is not rigged.. how can every single person in this world see that wasnt a try but the idiot upstairs?? Manly had to lose so that 9th to 12th place teams still hold hope

So why were Manly allowed a try off a gridiron pass.

Idiot.

Absolutely. Wasn't a penalty before the game, wasn't a penalty afterwards and yet Hair Spray Harrigan chooses the biggest game of the year to pull out that penalty. The guy is a peanut, always has been always will be. And when someone challenges about 1989 he threatens to sue. Well I'm prepared to go on record saying the bloke is a clown, the decision was a shocker, and Monday night showed he isn't getting better.

I dread the thought of him becoming ref's boss but at least it will mean he never officiates another game.

cant believe he put his hand up and said he got it wrong! bill must be mellowing in his twilight

Doubt it. I think it has more to do with him trying to be ref's boss when Finch retires. Harrigan only ever considers things in the context of how he looks.

100% agreed Yoss!

that call against McGuire was a blatant penalty TO Balmain - NEVER against - and he still claims it was "against the spirit of the game" despite there being no such rule in the books - and dummy halves have still been running at off-side defenders (e.g.. non-square markers) to get a penalty in every game since!

the bloke was a Superleague stooge who actively sought to raise the profile of refs beyond that in any other sport globally! He even claimed on 2SM this year that the current refs are (and I quote verbatim) - "as fit - if not fitter - than the players"!!!!!

What the f***?

The refs aren't making tackles & when they run they are not being opposed by three defenders - yet he considers them the physical equal of the players!! What an arrogant and ignorant f***ing tool!

As I stated in my initial post - my issue is that he proved that he does not understand the appropriate interpretation of "separation" as detailed in the key indicators - yet he is the bloke advising the on-field blokes on how to interpret it!!!???

He is simply NOT competent but was able to determine his own punishment (you can put the house on him being back next round) - and on 2SM he only made excuses (i.e. size of monitor - camera angles etc) and then attacked the two ref system that had no bearing on his own lack of performance!!!

He & Finch need to hit the dole queue!

he also said he got home and saw the front-on view on TV and realised his mistake - what bollocks!!!

that implies he did not see the front-on at the game - if not he should have demanded it - or sent it back as Refs Call (as per our game)! Instead he made a benefit of the doubt call that he was not entitled to make if the view is not available! However - those of us who watched the game on Fox know he saw the front on angle (as did the crowd) on several occasions before he made the call!!

He is a liar and a lair! He could have watched it again at half-time but instead petulantly told the media after the game "there was no separation" (another verbatim quote)!

I believe he undoubtedly received a call from Finch after the game to let him know he f***ed up - and give him the opportunity to fall on his own sword as a PR exercise!!
