oh no! this is terrible news. after the thread on him and all the posts on there i was so hopeful he would do well.
what a shame. :frowning:

“I’ve been impressed with what he has been doing at training so far,” Potter said.

“He has been diligent, hard-working and is looking trim.

“Yileen has still got good speed and size, he’s got the rare talent of being able to beat his man and set up his outside player.”

Leopard never changes spots…or Potter is a bad judge

Oh well at least the club saved having for fork out for his Alice Springs travel...

Clearly he didn't want another chance in the NRL bad enough....

How he was training alexi….and what he did to get sacked....you think Potter cannot differentiate???

Please... :unamused:

Don't think Potter is a bad judge, sounds like one ugly incident has torn it up.

He also might have been signed on with strict conditions due to past indiscretions.

The Wests Tigers have terminated the contract of Yileen Gordon after he offended students and teachers during a school visit on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old, who was on a three month train-and-trial contract with the Tigers, was sacked by the joint venture club on Tuesday night.

Wests Tigers players had been visiting local schools as part of an anti-bullying program when Gordon's behaviour offended some at the school.

Gordon had written offensive material that was seen during his visit. School officials later complained to the Tigers.

"He basically wrote something he shouldn't have written at a school visit and when we found out we decided it was worthy of termination regardless of who the player was," chief executive Grant Mayer said.

The club terminated Gordon's contract on Tuesday night for breaching the terms and conditions of his contract.

Maybe Potter would have better career options in cricket. He has good talent in the "spinner" role..

"man, my school was so hard it was the teachers writing profanities on the board!"

seriously though, getting sacked for writing something offensive on a whiteboard/whatever on a good will school visit?! thats pretty weird behaviour man….for an adult anyway!

Has he been at the Tigers long enough for cronulla to make him an offer??

lol…

So Gordon was on a school visit and wrote something offensive...he probably drew a phallic symbol on a text book.....

Thing is lads, it's not like he's 17 or 18.

He's 26 years old. Old enough for you to look at it and say…. hmm..... something isn't quite right in his head.

It's strange behaviour if anything.

I wonder in what context, I hope he wasn't simply writing examples of bullying and showed poor judgrment….in that scenario harsh punishment. If he was being an obnoxious fool, well you reap what you sew.
interesting comment re terminating any player for the same offense, wonder if a super star committed the same offense how true that runs. not exactly the crime of the century

Or it was THAT bad. It must have been so very wrong for it to be treated like this.
