Young Forwards

I've been one of a chorus of folks that have been championing the likes of Schirnack A&B, Aaron Woods et al for a while and I feel justified. The Schirnacks were flawless in defense and Woods looked like a seasoned first grade front rower apart from 1 drop. GOOD STUFF YOUNGUNS!

how good was woods! you see players struggle from the transition from nyc/nsw cup to first grade but woods is handling it so well. im glad he will be in the squad for several weeks.

dwyer is starting to reach his potential.

fifita was great in defense.

shirnacks were defending much better than they have in their previous chances.

most of their runs were ok.Sometimes they looked like ballerina's in a jersey. Our backs had more go forward tonight though

Dwyer really improved playing as a second rower rather than as a prop. He's a better option than Fulton that's for sure.

i thought they looked extremely strong.
enjoyed watching them play and looking forward to seeing more of it

I wouldn't say flawless, Jason missed 6 tackles.

I thought Dwyer really answered his critics tonight. Woods also made a big contribution.

The Shirnaks were important tonights but I do not see them as being in the mix in the long term other than injury situationsl.

unfortunately i dont see the shirnacks retaining their spots when the likes of gibbs, fulton and ellis return

i really hope fifita and woods do though

Jace Shirnack is a talent but gee he lacks size. Hard to see him playing a regular role when we have Fulton and Heighno. I actually wanted to see more from Al Shirnack tonight, he defended well, but he didnt go after his chance in attack IMO. He's a better player than he showed tonight, hope he gets another chance. I think Murdoch will partner Ellis in the backrow later in the year.

That has to be a typo wherever you read it, surely?

Yes well, good on Sheens for bringing these guys through… I know some will be peeved cos a positive vote for Sheens.

Fulton out, Payten out imo… Payten looks like he played a year too long to me.

8 - Gibbs
9 - Farah
10 - KG
11 - Dwyer
12 - Ellis
13 - Heighington

14 - Fifita
15 - Woods
16 - Murdoch-Masila
17 - utility

Hopefully by years end.

Wasn't it one of the Shirnacks that missed Mannering on the goal-line?

Cuzzo - Can't agree with your Fulton comment. He is in our best 17 for sure, fully fit.

I thought the same about Payten & yes agree with you King Sirro. He is a big unit and is getting on and like any seasoned stayer it takes him a few runs to get to his peake.

The attitude was good but there were far too many dropped balls by forwards running the ball up. I know it was damp but still…

Thought Woods looked great tonight. Defended well and showed some good footwork. He has a great future if he can avoid injury.
Fifita is not hitting the line hard enough or direct enough. Has to really wind up and go straight.
The brothers were solid without being great. It's good we have guys like this who can go into 1st grade and do a job.
Dwyer was better than last week. Ran a nice line to make a line break.
