I saw it for the first time on Sunday night Really enjoyed it

Nice to have a movie that I haven't worked out what is going to happen after the first 15 minutes

Another movie to add to my ever growing list

This thread reminded me about a bloke at work who's brother set him up and got him to watch Bad boy bubby with their mum. Needless to say he no longer takes his brothers advice in movies.

Black Hawk Down
The Empire Strikes Back
Gladiator
Casino Royale
Saving Private Ryan

I like Black Hawk Down not for its cinematography, but for the fact the cocky Americans go in all gun-ho and get their arses kicked!

1\. Braveheart
2\. Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels
3\. Heat
4\. Top Gun
5\. Pulp Fiction

There are lots more but off the top of my head these stood out.
Anything with Pacino or De niro in it or Directed by Tarentino!

Never understoop how people raved about Scarface. It seemed overblown and oversold to me. In that genre I thought that Carlitos Way was a better film.

For me

Casino
Empire Strikes Back
North By Northwest
The Thin Red Line
Bonnie & Clyde
The Wild Bunch
Dr Strangelove
Aliens
Chinatown
The Godfather II

There are a lot more including almost anything with Audrey Hepburn or Daniel Day Lewis

Recent times

The Dark Knight trilogy
Argo
This Is Not A Film
Any Paul Thomas Anderson film

Highlander for me, but not many people seem to like that one …

What a great film. If only the producers had listened to the line "There can be only one!" Loved the Queen soundtrack too.

Another film I love with a Queen soundtrack was Flash Gordon, but I don't think I'll put it in my fave film list. I showed it to my son when he was 4\. His favourite scene was when they were whipping Ming's daughter…

Just got home from work and whilst watching the highlights on the cricket show, it was good to see Starc take a couple of early wickets with Watson taking a wicket as well in his first test back from injury. Did SA win the toss and elect to bat? Have we gone in with 4 quicks and Lyon 12th man or 3 quicks + Lyon and one of the two new debutants 12th man?

I have a theory that the mood you are in, and the atmosphere of the time effects how you perceive the value of a film. I have been to films that I have not really enjoyed, but similarly minded friends have loved them. I usually find a movie I watch when on holidays is more likely to end up being a favourite.
A movie that really touched me was Sophie's Choice,
I laughed hysterically at Blazing Saddles (but have not watched it since)
I absolutely love Chocolat (probably because of Johnny Depp) although I think one of his best movies is What's Eating Gilbert grape.
I also remember an Alby Mangles movie that I saw at a community hall that I thought was fantastic, but have no idea what it was.
Have seen Big Wednesday numerous times at the outdoor cinema at Lady Macquarie's Chair (that I'm sure has to do with the environment)
Lately, I have enjoyed Bridesmaids and Kath and Kimberalla (which has probably dismissed any interest in what I have written)

Just a few of my favourite films

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy
Great spy drama, beats James Bond anyday.

The Train.
Old B/W film with Burt Lancaster stopping the Germans escaping from Paris with priceless paintings. Great Train crash in this movie.

Any of the Bourne films.
