Don't understand why the lower ranked teams in the 8 have 2 days extra to prepare over the Top 2 sides for the 2026 NRL GF

So you basically get no advantage for winning the minor premiership , in fact you get penalised

Remember the days of the top 5....when everyone played finals at a ground that was neutral for all...when every team.played everyone twice, club championship.

I find thick accents from people who speak really quickly almost impossible to understand - Irish and Indians especially.
I always seem to get them on the phone when I am looking for information on something lol….

Years ago, one of my first jobs was in a local, family owned hardware store. On Saturday mornings I was often the only one there. There was this old Scottish bloke that would come in with an accent that was so thick it might as well have been a foreign language. It would take me several repeats to get even the vaguest idea what he was after. Looking back, i wonder if he came in just for his own amusement.

Speaking of movies....is it just me getting older (likely) or sometimes it feels like actors are mumbling their lines? Seems more obvious when watching a movie on TV...But yeah, that and loud munchies!!

I read somewhere that the reason the sound quality on your telly is not as good as at a cinema is cos the Movie was made for the sound system of the cinema, not for telly. I have had to utilise Closed Captions for that very reason - nothing to do with Age or deafness. I have rarely used my ears at all - no headphones or earbuds to blast the drums asunder!

Still, when I played Bernard Fanning's "Wish You Well" the other day, I was confused about the lyric "Why d'ya give up Miso Soup?" Hear! Hear! 👂🦻🤣😂

People in the shop who just walk straight though you without saying excuse me to get what they want. I had an older person literally just push their trolley into me once. I said can you see me standing here? Am I invisible? Took no notice, didn’t hear a word I said 😤

Another peeve while we’re on the subject, is drivers who insist on going 20kms below the speed limit. We have a lot of them up here, 50ks in a 70 zone, 40ks in a 60 zone. They are always in front of you and of course the speed demons are always up your arse. It’s Murphy’s law.
