Potter said he'll be looking to run his strongest available 17 this week, so with that in mind, and based off who he chose against the eels:

1\. Moltzen
2\. Koroibete
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ayshford
5\. Utai
6\. Marshall
7\. Miller
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Bell
11\. Anasta
12\. Pettybourne
13\. Blair

14\. Fulton
15\. BMM
16\. Thompson
17\. Buchanan or Ava S

If any additional players are added:

Iosefa
Nofoaluma
Mr T
Tedesco

from the highlights it seemed as if blair was playing mainly on the right edge rather than in the middle. not sure what people at the game saw though.

plus moltzen seems to have bulked up heaps.

yeah, i'm kind of agreeing with macdougall, already got a 5er on souths, sharks and tigers. Hopefully the tigers win me $80

tigers team from the weekend looked like a bloody MACHINE compared to that crappy ass team i was rooting for in 2012\. Even exceed '11, '10 which mostly relied on benji and robbie's flair to create points instead of playing with urgency, earning the right to play 10m out and having a strong defensive element too.

Very early days folks, let's not get carried away here. I'm confident we'll improve on last year, but we face a tougher test this week against a big, mobile side which punished us twice - very easily last year. Let's see if the defence aims up on Saturday night against one of the bigger packs in the comp.

Have to agree with willow but love the positivity. Roosters will show us where we are standing, albeit they should aiming for top 4 with their squad. Big game for anasta and time for miller to have a real go (don't care if he buggers up a few times but just to show other teams that he is here to play first grade and don't forget it!).

I'm thinking…

1\. Moltzen
2\. Koroibete
3\. Lawrence
4\. Ayshford
5\. Utai
6\. Marshall
7\. Miller
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Bell
11\. Anasta
12\. Pettybourne
13\. Blair

14\. Thompson
15\. Buchanan
16\. BMM
17\. Mr T

I thought Fulton would be out injured this week which is why I left him out. Looking forward to seeing how the boys go up against some much tougher opposition. I'd have Thompson & Buchanan in the front row rotation. Would also like to see how Mr T goes in the 2nd row. With his pace/size if he can get it together in 1st grade this year he'd be the perfect utility for us! Would also like to see the following get a run to see if they can put some pressure on the guys in firsts...

David Nofo (for Utai)
Ava S (prop rotation)
Tedesco (obviously for moltz)
Iosefa (just to give Robbie a break)

God I cant wait for the season to start!!

Farah and Marshall don't need to play imo. I wouldn't bother. They showed way enough in the Parra trial to indicate that they're going to be fine with the side in round one. Let Miller get some experience leading the side.

I reckon the issue with that MacDougall is Miller needs time with Benji/Robbie on the field, we know he can lead a side as halfback, he needs to find his groove/niche working beside those two guys.

I'd put Luani instead of Iosefa to rotate with farah, we know roughly how good masada is in NRL, let's try out a newer guy who looked good in reserve grade last week.

Miller definitely needs experience leading the side, but he also need experience leading the side WITH benji and robbie. We can't just force everybody to rely on him we have to get HIM to be the instigator if you know what i mean. Cause in the NRL he'll be 'battling' it out with the other playmakers for control of the team so he needs as much practice at controlling the team in that scenario.

That's my view anyway. Also, it's an important match generally as we've almost never won foundation cup and the roosterrs will be putting up their best lineup. Would be interesting to see how the team goes without the duo for a whole game though

The above discussion leads me to the conclusion that miller does not fit into the team at present. With Robbie, Benji and Braith, we don't need another organizer!

To leave Robbie and Benji out so miller can have a go running the team is silly because they will be back come round 1\. Miller looked slow and small in the Parra trial highlights.
IMO, watching from the other side of the world!

On the issue of his speed - In the highlights video of the Parra trial at 6:20, he has to slow down not to overtake Ayshford when Ayshford picks up the loose ball and runs 50 metres. Maybe Aysh isn't the yardstick for speed but Miller's speed is not an issue.

One thing I've learned from many frustrating years of watching the Tigers is they can never have enough organizers, particularly at no. 7\. The side might have its problems, but if one of them is being over-organized, I'll be a happy man in 2013.

Same starting side, bench being:

Bell/Buchanan (depending who starts)
Thompson
BMM
Fulton/Iosefa

Let Tedesco play a FULL 80 minute game in reserves

Hope the premiership predictions aren't based around the Parra trial. If so rather foolish. In 2011 Parra thumped us and we ended up in the top 4 and they finshed 15th. Still a long long way to go

Trials aren't any guide. Half the time only one team puts in

definitely not, it's just confirming a lot of the things that I thought the younger players, couple of buys and potter would bring into the team.

Would love to Pottter give some of the fringe players a chance against a good roosters pack to see how they pull up. Players i would like to see get good time would be the two big men Ava and MR T,along with a couple of last years under 20s who are now to old for the grade. By doing this Potter would get a idea who he could pulll up should injury strike, he could play his best side for 1 half give the other a good hit out in the other.
