Why are people worried about the financial implications if we pick players outside the top 25?

The Fonz said we have not spent to the cap and are way under it. So match payments to a player outside the top 25 wont hurt us.

Also, it is his fault that good players are not in the top 25 and a couple of average ones are.

The Top 25 at most clubs have at least 3-4 players who wont see much game time at NRL level. This allows administrations to place a couple of higher paid/Back-up players into the Second Tier Cap as its mainly calculated on games played….

This has been the prefered option for Clubs, instead of adopting the contract clauses that activate higher payments if you play X amount of games. The NRL dont like this, as the Bulldogs stretched this clause a few years ago to include a regular squad of 40 players being rotated. In this instance, up to 11 players only reached 1 game short of activating the clause and were then banished to NSW Cup to thier feeder club.

He's worth more than what he's on IMO

What's to like about him? He seems poor under the high ball. Gets caught out in defence and isn't heaps fast or heaps strong. Very average player.

I said before the season started that Brown, Daniela and Fitzy are reserve graders are are a waste of money. Why did we give them a contract over players like Pritchard and Davis? What a joke.
