Future for Lui in first grade isnt looking great..

This is a big call

Have you observed this yourself??? If so where is Rob Lui?

It's a very big call alright. Lui will be in the 17 somewhere.

i have not seen it in person though my source hasnt been wrong yet…
Luis future with the tigers is still uncertain at this stage but for the time being he is still a main part of the squad.

For Round 1 i would be looking at something like this..

1\. Brown
2\. Latu
3\. Ayshford (pending injury) / Ryan
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tuqiri

6\. Marshall
7\. Moltzen

8\. Gibbs
9\. Farah ©
10\. Galloway
11\. Payten
12\. Heighington
13\. Ellis

14\. Fifita
15\. Fulton
16\. A. Schirnack
17\. Davis

Lui will have to bide his time in the State Cup..he needs to work on a few things like his kicking and running games….IMO Moltzen is a better option at half; he's quicker, throws a mean, long flat pass, reads the game well and can defend better than Lui...his combo with Benji will really shine if both stay on the field!...Cant wait!!!

Yeah I like Underdog's list, but don't mind CT's idea of Brown at fullback. All depends on how that hamstring is going for Wade.

I would like to see McKinnon start at full back, Brown on the wing, Moltzen at half back and my bench would be Payten, Fifita, Dwyer and Daniela (I would give him a free licence to roam the field using his pace and footwork to catch out lazy forwards around the ruck). Sorry I have no spots for Ryan, Lui and Flanagan.
I hope during the course of a long season we see BMM, Woods, J Schirmack, Moors given a go in NRL with players rested so they are fresh for the finals. Great to see we have so much depth this year.

Moors seems to be the forgotten man here.

Any chance that he is any where near the top squad with the like of Gibbs, Fifita, Dwyer,Woods etc in the mix for the bench / Impact spots.

Not sure, he has become the forgotten man this off-season with most people talking up the likes of Fifita, Dwyer, Woods, Murdoch-Masila etc. Junior had a very good pre-season under Folkes last year and dropped a lot of weight. With a few forwards such as Ellis, Payten and Heighno recovering from off-season surgery, Moors may just get a chance to snag a starting spot in the Eels trial match.

I think if he is used in the backrow as opposed to the front row, he'll go well. He terrorised sides in State Cup last year while playing in the backrow for Wests and really used an excellent ability to offload to his advantage.

I rate Junior Moors and agree with Willow that second row is his spot. Hopefully he is not a forgotten man. Great depth in the forwards. We need for the fringe players to put pressure on the NRL forwards for their positions plus step up with injuries occur. We have enough front rowers without needing Moors to fill the role. Bring on 2011

forgotten men:

Moors
Flanagan
Cayless (best forgotten IMHO)
Daniella (mostly)
Mullaney
Latu
Rocquica (spelling, sorry guys)

The tough thing is they are all quality players - one can assume we won't go through the season injury free and they will all play their parts though…

The exception to the list there is Roqica though as he is still eligible to play Toyota Cup this year.

yeahh, Me personally i think Daniela & Flanagan and maybe even Moors are the only ideal people id have in the team if injury or something arose.

I dont think Mullaney Roqica and cayless could shove anyone for a spot. Maybe latu, he was good when he played in his 1st game.

If Ayshford is injured then I think we should look at putting Daniela at right centre. He has great acceleration and he improved his defense last year. He did well for us last year when he had his opportunity.

well, that brings lui into halfback, daniella into the starting lineup, and brown/ryan now aren't fighting for spots. one will be winger, the other will be interchange.

its almost as if those injuries have solved some problems - not the best team on the park, sure, but stops selection headaches at least.

1\. Mckinnon
2\. Ryan
3\. Ayshford IF injured then Daniela
4\. Lawrence
5\. Tuqiri
6\. Marshall
7\. Lui
8\. Gibbs
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Fulton
12\. Ellis
13\. Heighno

14\. Fifita
15\. Dwyer
16\. Payten
17\. Brown

Great side considering Moltzen's injury. Would like to see Brown start on wing ahead of Ryan. Great to see Daniela perform so he gives Sheen's some selection headaches. Daniela would be a perfect bench player adding pace and footwork in the ruck running though tired and lazy forwards. Lui is not my first choice half back but on his last couple of games in 2010 he performed well and deserves first shot at the position. Moltzen has been out for a while so match fitness will be an issue when he does return. maybe he should return off the bench.

Is Ayshford injured, or are people just throwing around hypotheticals? I can't tell at this stage. 😕
