What about selecting Luciano Lelulia in the centres?

It's not really realistic for me to select a team when there are so many unknowns.

We don't know if Seyfarth and Lucy will be available, for example.

Added to that I haven't seen any of the young guys play this year. Hoffman is a possibility at centre or wing, but I've never seen him play.

Bradley is an option at wing, but from what I saw last year, he didn't look ready for the NRL. Perhaps he has developed well in the meantime.

I prefer selecting players in their proper positions, so that if Talau is to replace BJ, then I would prefer Bradley on the wing. If, on the other hand, Talau stays on the wing, then I'd pick Hoffman at centre (assuming he can play on the right and he is ready to debut).

Too many unknowns for me to hazard a guess.

Look Avo, I have no idea (I'm sure you and others will agree) But it is a very dicky situation we find ourselves in. Whoever we pick, we are going to give away experience so we have to fill the gaps with as much experience as we can, without being stupid.

Rowdy and Chee-Kam have experience - Rowdy was a centre but speed is his problem now, Chee-Kam imo should not even be in first grade.

That leaves us with younger players, at least Talau as I said has played 3 games and a season in the centre (I think) in cc. Hoffman also is a centre but has had one trial, apart from that I have not seen him play other than a few highlights in QC.

Bradley has never struck me as a first grader to this stage - that still leaves a wing spot. who gets picked ????? (Oh! if we only had someone, people are going to say if we only had Thommo - but this Forum was half full of how short he was, dodgy under the high ball - anyway he is not here). I think I would play (totally left field - Walters). Speed off the mark to nab Gagai, good defender, I know he is short, but would need help with the bombs etc.

Avo - who knows, but whoever is picked and I don't really care as long as it works out.

It's a tricky one for sure. I think i'm leaning towards keeping Talau on the wing because he's been going so well there. Hard call to make re the centre position. I think i'd be inclined to give Hoffman a run. He's a centre that has big wraps on him.

I would avoid putting Chee Kam or Rowdy there. I think that would be a big mistake.

people also need to remember he played left centre practically his whole life, he'd struggle out on the right. there's no right answer in who we pick to be honest, but I do think that it might be too much to ask of Talau or Hoffman to deal with the presence of a James Roberts. I think Chee-Kam will start.

MCK would be terrible imo he dosent have the temperament or lateral speed for big minutes.I honestly dont like him covering in the centres for any time at all for those reasons

Probably the hardest decision he has had to make this year in regards to team selection, there is nobody demanding selection by their performances that he can judge by.Not an easy decision imo

Isnt it funny how everybody wants to give all these untried and untested guys at NRL level a crack when we are trying to establish ourselves in the top 8 so we can play finals footy...I love that we have young guys in the squad,but with no reserve grade games this year to measure the quality of their play,do you want them to fail and be hammered by seasoned players and lose their confidence....once again I will say Madge is the coach and when he sees fit to play these guys he will...
I don't want to make suggestions on who needs to play and where because Madge is trying to find the right fit for our team if we do get desperate enough to call the young ones up...

I know what your saying, but do we throw Lawrence or MCK into the game who we know have been shown up in the past based on experience or do we take a punt with a kid.
They took a punt with young Tommy T on the wing and it’s been a big success. Hard call to make but I would go with Hoffman

Madge hasn’t been scared to throw rookies into the mix so far so don’t think he would change his mind about it now

MCK is a tough one, sometimes he can do really well and other times he looks like a reserve grader. Against broncos last year he played centre almost all game and killed it. This year he has looked average.

I’m happy for Hoffman to come into the team. Fingers crossed Luciano and McIntyre are fit, Luciano looks more likely to play out of the two

The only saving grace is they’re on opposite sides so it’s Mbye next to Talau and Hoffman with Nofa.
