Disappointing loss today but just wasn't meant to be. Howler of a call from the ref and a couple of tries directly from Lolohea's poor defensive play killed us. We were the better side for 60 minutes of that and came away empty handed.

Despite all the criticism Kev's copped over the past 3 years, the bloke has always given 110% and I'm confident he'd be able to do a job from the back for us. MWZ has acquitted himself well on the wing. He makes no errors and generally positions himself well so we shouldn't experience any drop-off on that side.

Pack remains unchanged with the exception of Liddle coming in. Twal is working well off the bench, let's keep him there. Maybe up his minutes from 40 to 50, no need to fix what isn't broken. Seriously disappointed with Packer's workrate and to a lesser extent Matulino. I know Clearyball is back heavy in terms of churning out the metres, but for two marquee signings these guys simply haven't done enough. Leading through your play is just as influential as leading through your presence.

I can't see a spot for Rochow in the team. Yes MCK and Aloiai haven't been the best, but watching Rochow closely he missed a ton of tackles as well and his game in attack was practically non-existent. He's a good guy to have in the top 30 but Rochow at his best isn't a great deal better than Aloiai or MCK at their worst. I'd probably consider McQueen sooner being perfectly honest. I think with Aloiai we just need to ride out the errors, they'll go and he should hopefully begin to form a pretty good combination with Reynolds. MCK needs to be fed some better ball imo, he just hasn't had the space to do any damage. I think we need him fairly fresh in the last 25 mnutes and give space out wide to attack the line with his speed, footwork and offload. Having someone like Kev or Thompson sniffing around will help him too, was a lost cause with Lolohea in support play.

Agree. Best hooker in the club in 2017 & is a big body to defend in middle.
 
Didn't Cleary say he was going to use our whole squad throughout the year? McIlwrick hasn't had a run yet (neither had Gamble) and hooker is a problem for us so really why not give him a go. Would he be worse?

That way Eiso ET and Lawrence could be our second rowers and lock, letting MCK or Aloiai to go on the bench with Mats, another prop, and another hooker (Liddle or Godinet).

I don't think MCK and/or Aloiai should be starting, And personally I would like to see McQueen given more of a go. Got him for 4 years, time to start playing like it.
