Light on for props yet again

Not that he is a world beater but Grant will end up on our books sometime soon…No inside info but Souths need to offload and we are short of a prop

I'm not sure if we still have a no-d!ckheads policy. But if we don't and Cronulla went 50/50 with Fafita and we got him for the same price as Grant.. Who would you go?
I'd go Woods/Ava starting , with Sue at 13 and have Fafita coming off the bench at the 20 minute mark. I know he's a bit of a knob, but maybe he's matured (like Willie??) having him As a benchie might bring his ego down.

Don't mind Milky's side, though we have to disagree on the nine jumper, with Mania and Ballin sharing the duties for mine I will cheer on Farah if I still have to, but would prefer the halves getting quicker ball, amongst other things.

Hoping that Taylor mixes things up with the lock role and Sirro looked okay when playing a mixed role late in the year, so who knows but expecting big things from him and also Sue from this season onwards, regardless of his position.

I was initially against the idea but seeing just how light on we are, I think Id change my mind now…he reminds me of Kilo a bit...always think youre going to see more from him and then you realise weve probably seen his best.

Id be very surprised ghost if Joel Edwards isnt in the 17 come round one. We might be a bit short on depth in the pack but there seems to be plenty of experience the forwards we do have

So Jesse Parahi is a forward, hes the union sevens recruit yeh?

I wouldn't touch Grant. There's no point having size for the sake of it, it's not like you need the weight for set pieces in League. In attack you need power but that doesn't just come from size as guys like Sam Moa prove. I can see someone like Griffin doing a good job for us at prop with a huge motor and a good offload coming off his hit and spin.

I'd have Woods, Sue, Ava and Griffin/Edwards as the preferred props with Buchanan and some of the younger guys in reserve. Tim Grant isn't going to get any better but Buchanan may (I admit he's been a plodder to date but he's still young and has shown occasional signs) and we have some good potential up and comers.

Brenton Lawrence I would have said go for had he been available but it looks like offloading Hiku was probably enough for Manly to get Walker…

Not replacing KG with a straight out front rower has made us unbalanced in the forwards for 2016\. We have a lot of backrowers;
Sironen, Halatau, Lawrence, Edwards, McConnachie, Griffin, Cassell, Lovett, Parahi, Sue , Chee Kam, Liolevave
Not many straight out Front Rowers;
Woods, Ava, Buchanan
I'm guessing Taylor is planning to use Sue and maybe one of the Qld boys upfront. If we don't Aquire any more props I'd go with Woods and Sue starting up front. This will be a problem come the middle of the year when Woods is picked for SOO.

I hope you're not suggesting players are dropped to Reggie's after one off day with "week in week out"
That wouldn't augur well for combinations and fluency
People need to realise unforced changes are something every coach would wish for most at the start of each year

No. Not after one bad game. Players that continually have more off days then not, don't put in the effort, or are lazy at times, should and must be dropped, if we're to become a competitive team. I like to see every player put in 100% week in week out if injury free.
Unrealistic expectations i know…. Lol.

Cant believe how many have Nofo & Kev on each wing… Both play on the right.

Watson-Heleta has probably earned the chance on the left outside Simona, but Seve would carve it up if given the chance. [not so good under the high ball was a discussion last year?]

Backrow make-up balanced with Centres is my concern… We need to stick with a set combination and not chop & change.

Robbie plays sideways - Ballin plays more direct. Decide the Prop rotation and there is your decision!

Happy do you know something we don't? A bit of pace in that backline & haven't woods & fifita always wanted to start in the frintrow together!

Have to agree with Simona on the wing & Sue at 2nd row but we're prob too light up front for that to happen unless the newbies kill it. Besides Teddy, Woods, Nofo & the halves the rest is a lottery.
