"Madge has changed nothing": Tamou

@GNR4LIFE said Hastings shouldn't be captain because he hasn't earrnt it or worn a jersey...

I can't pick Hastings because he hasn't proven anything on the park. It's the same as picking Mbye and Tamou.

The captain should come from within the club. I'd prefer Doueihi but he is injured.

One more year and that's the last of him.

You've got to be so careful with signings. People go on about needing experience but Tamou is exactly that player. We just have a bunch of decent middle forwards and he is a decent middle forward.

The Papali signing is a good one because it's an area where we need quality players. At the same time losing Luc and Tuilagi is really poor because they can both play.

Nofo is such an average player but two players in Twal and Hastings have talked up his captaincy qualities.

Laughed and rolled my eyes last night when he ran side ways across the field.

Same old. 🤦‍♂️

The only positive out of that interview was that he managed to not mention the Panthers.

I hope the silly prick rues the fact that he chased security over a premiership for the rest of his days.

Agreed.

Laurie is in the same boat as fad as I'm concerned.

Rather support some Yamba local league than watch his team mates play.

All the roosters first graders were in polos, supporting the lads.

Two guys who'd rather be hi fiving the clearys and begging for BBQ invites than being in the trenches with the Tigers.

Apparently Laurie was up that way because of a close relative who passed away

And man yeah just saw the Tamou interview, if that’s the guy who’s leading us around this year we’re in trouble

Agree with others in that the one positive is that it now gives Madge/the assistant coaches/the team enough time to correct any problem areas. Depth is an issue and having a whole different team again, with several new players makes it even hard to know who's best for certain positions.
Thought LL and Joffa were great, Peachey was okay (especially in attack) but admit there just wasn't enough game time from him to determine how we'll likely line up this year. So it's a little worrying knowing that there's a decision still to made on our forwards (bench use and prop rotation).
We looked so small in comparison to Manly. Their defence was also much more effective than ours.

Admit I didn't watch much of the second half but I cannot understand the praise Tuki has gained. He and Seyfarth, no offence, looked like reserve graders. Madden the same. Good kicking game though.
Can't criticise our attack too much as we were good despite the conditions but the annoying thing about last was defence yet again. Plus also the fact two of our better performers(Tuilagi and LL) will be elsewhere, but that's JMO obviously.
Logan Dillon looks very slick and sharp. Personally hope to see him in first grade at least once this year.

But yeah it's way too soon to tell if much change has actually occurred.

It’s not the time to give the job to Doueihi. He has enough on his plate coming back from a serious injury. And Hastings needs to establish himself. Just give the job to Twal.
Have never heard Twal utter a word.
Captain more often than not needs to be a bloke that is very vocal, will get up his teammates if they are loafing and lay down some harsh comments when needed.
Twal is a consistent toilet but not sure if captaincy material. He's the pack's version of Brooks.

At what point does sheens step in to coaching ?
I believe the best way he can assist is to offer constructive feedback on how to engage an audience. Also, suggestions offered in a non career threatening way about game plans and tactics may assist. In the end, imo Sheens will have a significant role in determining the coach's tenure.

Never, I hope. Sheens job is to introduce and establish a more positive culture at the club. To make it the club where it’s an honour to be given the captaincy.
Po. 7u un 7h you have y66.

Still looked like a madge run team.

Geez the Brooks haters and ones stirring the pot that Madge hates Brooks would be livid.

Part of me would love this to happen though. Might force Brooks to take a big step change.
I think Twal and Brooks co captaincy is the most likely scenario

Are you trying to saying that Twal is a shit house player?

Call me an oddball, while it didn't sound good, I think he was simply trying to take ownership that it was the team's responsibility to improve.

He was trying to say last year wasn't on madge
Totally agree, when does poor performance get laid on the shoulders of the players instead of the coach ....??? I agree that some coaches get poor squads to have to work with at times, but they are very limited at this level...
UNDERSTAND....the players are professional NRL players paid big money in one of the biggest arenas in the sporting world..missed tackles, careless penalties, poor play the ball, poor kicks, simple turnovers all are the responsibility of the players....

BUT THEN AGAIN MOST OF THE LOSSES CAUSED BY POOR PLAYING ARE ALWAYS THE COACHES FAULT.....and on it goes until these players finally wake up and perform to their paychecks and contractual agreements..Something about the saying..''.cant handle the heat in the kitchen....then get out....''
AND Im not saying that Madge is a world beater as a coach, but man he covers for his players instead of arse kicking them and then wonders why the critics come a calling...

sidenote.....as far as the captaincy goes,I would love to give it to Hastings...he has a point to prove in NRL and has had experience at this level,he has matured and hasnt any real mates ties or long time friends to deal with on the field....he has leader written all over him,but lets see what happens....
