Madden/Hastings much better than Brooks/Hastings

Compared to last week a much improved performance. I was happy with the performance of Jackson Hastings
and Gildart. The spine was actually pretty good tonight. A few more games together and they will be much more co-ordinated and slick attacking team.

Hastings competes all game. He'll drag the team over the line with him.

Also credit to Luciano. I thought he'd honestly kick rocks and wrap himself in cotton wool for the Cowboys but he's had a red hot go both weeks.

He is fitter than last year by all accounts.

Thanks shifty, To'a is a football athlete.
Smarts by coach giving Musgrove more minutes because Tamou will be out for 4 games min and it was good to see zane punch it up for change.
Rua, star of the future.
Forward pack impressive the way they kept the attacker upright and push them backwards, slow play down.
A real change in defensive attitude and style
A bit sloppy but that rain was horrendous.

He played well tonight but for some reason he was not attacked in defence,i am sure he won't get that latitude each week

3 things I've taken from that.

1. Ngatikaura needs to be given a deal yesterday
2. Jacko must be starting halfback
3. Defence is still rusty as hell but with what is closer to our top 17 we were in it all game. Yes it was only a trial, but Easts still fielded a very good side and they hung in there and ground out a win.
