This summed up Roberts on that night:

When Xavier Coates got the try in the corner doing acrobatic crap, Roberts could have pushed him off balance in the air, but he just gave up and didn’t care.

I thought at the time he was a depth signing. And based on where he is atm, it seems about right.
 
If we rate him on the Storm game he was ok, he needs to get the ball more. Each time something looks to be on Lucy hogs it. The one time they got it to him early he did a jink/speed and flick offload had it hit Nofa he is open and down the line.

This season he looks different to last year. I will give him a few rounds to make judgement.

Call me a good judge on what makes a good footballer I guess. Hardly wrong in my perception, I'll gladly admit it if I'm wrong but i doubt it.

Does he let his private life bleed into his work?
Has he un-diagnosed mental health issues he needs help with?
…or is he just a professional victim?
The bloke can play. He has all the motivation in the world to succeed this year. Should he fail, his fate is deserved.
 
I said at the time that he was a waste of time, especially given we still have 500-600k to spend in THIS YEAR'S CAP. Surely there were better gambles to take, a gun youngster on a getting loaded contract over 3 years even. Take a punt on an origin player. We need quality if we're going to compete, there's no point only offering players their market value, we have to offer more than the rest.

Roberts on 100k a season is a waste of everyone's time. We can't keep shopping at the last chance saloon bargain bin and then complain when we lose and don't make the finals...

Agree. The Storm game wasn't even close to being lost down his side & he probably had his best game for us. In saying that based on everything outside of his last game can see why some bring his name up. It's up to him to perform week in week out and prove that he is still NRL quality. He has time if he can stay injury free lets hope he delivers.
