There’s a reason why Brodie Croft, Kyle Flanagan didn’t make it at the big clubs and subsequently the NRL in general. And it’s a quality that has Brooks in the top echelon of halves. Does defence really matter? You can guarantee that if those two halves could defend like Brooks they probably would both be still playing for those premium clubs.

Some people expect a "good" bomb to be like Douiehi's spiral or Benji or Pat Richards spiral that are harder to catch but what people dont take into account is those kicks are totally unreliable and cant be relied upon set after set. They are a trick shot.

The purpose of Brooks bombs isnt to get them to drop it, but to make sure that the opposition start their set 5-10m out with the kick chase right in front of them. Last week Brooks kicked very well.

The bombs he puts up from inside our own half that get brought back to nearly the halfway line on the 1st tackle are absolute crap. Won't have to wait long to see one tomorrow.

Only time I have ever felt ashamed to be a Wests Tigers fan was that day at Leichhardt.. Firstly the display by the side in Tommy's Tribute game.. then the disgusting behaviour of some fans on the sideline..
