[2022] If Madge goes, who you have as a replacement?

Hadn't thought of Gallen but I like the suggestion. I'd go Flanagan with Robbie and Gallen heavily involved if Gallen was ready to ditch Cronulla.

This weeks game is huge - both teams on long losing streaks dating back to last season - losing coach is massively under the pump

2 shithouse coaches head to head
Agree- I don't understand why teams continue to hire coaches that got sacked from their previous job. I know it works sometimes but more often that not it just ends up with them being sacked again.

In the industry I am in if you got sacked from your previous job you would struggle to get employed again - if you are an NRL coach you are half a chance of getting hired when the next coach gets boned

For those who want John Morris, why were the Sharks so keen to replace him and sacrifice last season?

I have no idea if he has it or not, but seems like an odd decision for a high potential coach?

The rumour was the Sharks believed he couldn't attract big name players

15 odd years of garbage.

Are we sure letting Madge go will fix the inherent issue with the club??

The issue with the club is the players.

Madge needs to sort out the playing roster. There should be no re-signings this year.

There are no players at the club worth keeping.

If we do have some kind of war-chest, as apparently we struggle to spend the entire cap (cause nobody wants to come here, which makes perfect sense).

Then madge has to be enough of a drawcard to attract real talent, and if he's not, then he what exactly is he for?

NRL 2022: Tim Sheens makes call on Michael Maguire’s Wests Tigers future

Phil Rothfield and Brent Read

In the wake of his side’s embarrassing loss to Newcastle, Wests Tigers boss Tim Sheens has addressed the futures of the club’s most under siege names.
Wests Tigers boss Tim Sheens has backed his under siege coach Michael Maguire to keep his job despite a poor start to the season.
In the aftermath of Sunday’s humiliating 26-4 loss to an understrength Newcastle, Sheens has returned serve on the critics calling for Maguire to be sacked.

“It’s a bit early to be jumping the gun – it’s round two for goodness sake, not round 22,” Sheens said.

“I’ve been around too long for knee-jerk reactions. I won’t be sucked into it.

I’m standing by Madge and the team. People wanted to sack Des Hasler after four weeks last year and then look what happened at Manly.

“Our job is to put our heads down, stick together, and be solid to each other.”

The former premiership-winning coach at the Raiders and Wests Tigers admits Sunday’s performance in Newcastle was not good enough but refuses to blame individuals.

“Yes they had a bad day yesterday and the whole world has jumped on them,” he said.

I’ve been around too long for all this speculation and I won’t be sucked into it.

“In 2005 we were running 11th and there were issues about whether I should be there.

If nothing changes by round 6, Sheens will punt him.
