Michael Maguire leaves club

Pascoe better be sliding those fingers along the abacus this morning working out the payout figure for Maguire.

The one tip off I received from a work colleague over 3 years ago that Maguire had signed that day was correct. The other tip from the same colleague that Maguire did not suit the WTs' style of play was also correct. The colleague had been involved with coaching and scouting at another club and if he could see it, why couldn't our Board? Just like the Board when it melted rather than sacking him last year. It may have cost us, but what is the cost now of retaining him and becoming the laughing stock of the NRL.

Pascoe is the worst football recruiter in history hopefully he is not involved

Looking for a couple of bright spots amongst the gloom, after only conceding 26 points in each of the two opening matches, our WT were 4 better than last year's average of 30 and nearer to their 2020 number.

Manly below us and last on the table is worse and we have until at least 7.45pm on Friday to hold onto that.

Would have said goodbye to Maguire at the end of 2020 and was shocked at the stupidity of WT's extension of his contract through to the end of next bloody year instead. I tried to stick solid and get behind their decision, but reality didn't allow that to last for long into last season.

There is a big allegation here. You are assuming Madge knew he did his ACL. The ACL test you do on-field, you can get a false negative 1 out of 10x, especially if he didn't have a meniscus or MCL injury to go with it. He might have been misdiagnosed by the physio (again, it happens) and you can still play without an ACL. To allege that Madge knew GI did his ACL and forced him to play is wrong unless you have an article or something to prove it.

The report that Madge told Burgess he had to stay on with a fractured cheekbone and eyesocket in the GF is way worse. That could have ended very badly.
