Michael Maguire leaves club

I can't speak for anyone else mate, but i'm going after him because i think passion is all he brings. He is passionate about what he does, but he cannot get his roster to fire, his use of the bench is poor ( as it was last year) and as i alluded to earlier the 5 captain debacle is one thing that just screams of indecisiveness. To use the quietest bloke on the field as our captain was like Oprah handing out prizes to the audience.
Most of all though, like you, i just want us to do well but i don't ever see that happening with Madge at the helm.
Stalkers are bloody passionate about what they want to succeed at, it doesn’t mean they are any good at it or achieve success no matter how much “effort” they put in! 😂🤣

Broken feet and scapula arent going to kill you or send you blind like Burgess injury could have

Maguire has been accused of making players play with injuries that they shouldn't have. I'm have no medical expertise but know that other coaches have also played players with full knowledge that they have severe injuries our own ex coach included.

Recruiting good attitude needs to go to the top of the list.

We need guys who understand and are worthy of the investment that we fans place in the team.

Losing on the week end wrecks my whole week.
Precisely, I would like a team comprised of players that pride in the jersey means something to them, that hate losing, that hurt when they are defeated , instead we get manchild Brooks that is happy to be there and tried real hard…. I’m so gotdamn sick of the entire spiel they present!

Against popular opinion and aware of how bad things look for Maguire I just can't back this squad at his expense. I see no allegiance to the club from any of them and - if true - the one guy who I gave the benefit of the doubt to over and over again wants out without delivering then clearly we don't have the right players. With or without Maguire this squad is going nowhere and yet it seems the person most desperate to see the club do well is the one who will get sacked.

I don't know mate. I've been in his corner all along and thought maybe this year, with the addition of Hastings, we might go alright. Doesn't matter who's starting, we just look terrible. I hate blaming coaches but it's been the same story his whole tenure. Funnily enough, when the game was well and truly lost with about 20 to go, Hastings took it upon himself to have a proper go and we looked 10x better. Throwing the game plan away seemed to improve the attack at least. I hate to admit it but I think his time is up.

The game plan will always go to shit because the players can't get the basics right. They consistently put pressure on themselves and then lose the will to compete. And who is lining up to play to take their place - not much. I know Maguire will be the fall guy it's the way it goes but we have been down this path before with no result.

The report that Madge told Burgess he had to stay on with a fractured cheekbone and eyesocket in the GF is way worse. That could have ended very badly.
I don’t know what your implying here.
However all through the Souths glory run of 2014 we were repeatedly reminded about how John Sattler played through a final with a broken jaw.
As soon as Sam copped that hit and as a viewer you can see the impact on it, the narrative was he will play on with it and was going to be the Clive Churchill medalist.
I’d say that decision to play on was on Sam as much as the coaching staff.

We need troops and mid year signings, Sheens already said today, its rd 2 lets give him a go hey. Having said that the club would have a plan b.
