Brooks Bashers Bore Me

& that's what needs to change.

Not baby boy Brooks being cuddled and media personalities talking about sorry they feel for him.

The team is the club and it comes first, not Brooks.
Look, in a way it will be a good thing if he goes. He gets a fresh start, and everyone whose been on his arse for years will realise the bigger issue is the club when the next 7 is equally ineffective.

Now you're speaking in WHAT IFS

Next 7 could be a genius and tear games to shreds.
Just because Brooks couldn't do it, doesn't mean the next man can't.

People are starting to watch the games, just to see whether or not Brooks plays like an Immortal.
Obviously if he doesn’t, he is poor and isn’t worth the shirt on his back.
Madden I thought started well with a lot of confidence. But didn’t get involved anywhere near as much in the second half.
Well it’s certainly going to be a challenge next week against the Titans pack without our leading prop in Stefano.
clear plan for madden to take some pressure of Brooks in 1H. Second half he looked to take control, but those around him just had no composure or class.

He won’t be. There is no Sam Walker type waiting in the wings that Brooks is holding back. If he goes, his replacement is a player of similar ability.

People will justify anything to drop Brooks. Apparently he was as bad as Laurie, even though he was our most potent attacking weapon.
I thought Madden looked more likely all night - he has surprised me.
Brookes has some skills - can tackle, can pass, can take on the line BUT his kicking is like Groundhog Day - same useless, non-threatening up and under he learnt as a 4 year old.

Nay sayer.

Similar ability, better IQ.
Any improvement is an improvement.

Brooks tried his heart out last night and was responsible for a lot of good things. Unfortunately and most importantly, he just couldn't get it done (again) in the last 10 minutes. We were an absolute rabble on their line with full sets of 6 and no direction. Now i know they are different classes of player to Brooks, but you put a Cronk or Cleary, Keary, Sam Walker or even a Mitchell Moses in that same team last night and particularly the last 10 minutes and there is no doubt in my mind we win that game. Brooks can play rugby league, but he still cannot orchestrate or construct an effective set of six on an opposition goal line.
Everyone keeps blaming the club for everything, and it's mostly justified but from recruitment point of view i don't think there would be too many players thinking Brooks could guide them to a premiership.

Nah. Just have supported this club long enough to know better.
The last 9 years we've been crippled with changes in coaching, paying players to play elsewhere, players sulking for releases and a halfback with no confidence and a lack of ability...

If you can't see those flaws and how we are and can improve them, you got eyesight like Daine Laurie.

And you don’t see the possibility this has affected Brooks?

I don’t know who’s obsessed with Luke more the people who want him gone or the people who want him to stay.

This thread was created within 30 minutes of the game finishing. Surely the OP knew the outcome of the thread.

Luke did some things that could have won the game and did some things that caused us to lose the game.

You think Brooks should be afforded a few more years in hopes a team can be structured around his strengths?
Until a better option comes along, yes. That’s the thing his detractors haven‘t done. Happy to get rid of him, but can’t name a replacement who would be better. And I’m not talking Cleary or Reynolds. A player that’s a realistic possibility.
