Our squad depth is the worst in the NRL and is due to total roster miss management. Madge can say injuries are an issue but lets break down our squad:

* We have more Hookers signed on the roster for next year than backrowers.
* We have zero backs or props coming in for next year despite 6 of our current top 17 forward pack yet to be committed for next year.
* Nofa and Ken keep making massive errors every game with and without the ball but To'a is allocated to NSW Cup
* JTJ is busted, sure his efforts have been good this year but he just isn't there
* Gildart isn't up to it
* Injuries - TT/AJ are fringe players, Blore sure but his form wasn't better than Kelma. AD is a loss but not a 20pt per game loss.
* We have a congested middle with Brooks, AD, Hastings, Peach and Madden
* NSW Cup is struggling like our NRL team with zero standout players emerging even when our NRL players move back


Players are looking at each other when we have the ball every game, not once either it happens often. Against the Sharks it happened in our 1st 2 sets no one was organising the play.

When a drop ball, kick of any sort occurs there is zero urgency to cover outside of the younger players who at least show some hunger out there.

The 5 captains was a true indication of Madge headspace - he isn't decisive & willing to make anyone accountable and the players he selected all are not consistent performers:
- Ken listed as captain and played the worst captains performance ever, hasn't rebounded & refused to dive on a ball rolling on the ground. Before joining was playing reserve grade at the Warriors because of his effort being more off than on.
- Brooks has just switched off totally, he isn't running anything and it's clear we don't have any form of attacking structure setup. He is doing a Moses right now. he isn't a half who can run a team.
- Peachey has been terrible and costly. He was never a reliable player, more off the cuff style player who can be brilliant one moment and terrible the next. Which is typical of our mindset.
- Tamou at least has tried & put the effort in
- AD is missing for over half the year and adds zero value game day this season


There is zero vision or game plan structure on the style of game we will play & how our roster decisions will impact that.

We are a very badly coached team right now & the players letting us down aren't made to be accountable for the poor performances.

Whatever way you look at things the buck stops with Madge, sure we can say players aren't putting effort in but that's because the coach isn't making them accountable. He has had years with us and if anyone thinks it will get better this year or next year under Madge it just won't.

I get he's done some ordinary things but what other coaches are their? Ciraldo I'd be keen on but I don't want to see Paul Green or Flanagan within 100m of the joint.

Green is overrated as and I'm sick to death Of Buzz talking up Flanagan all the time. I'd not get him just to shove it up that old fossil personally.

I don't mind Mag going. It as I said some of the board and at least 6-8 players need to go with him.

If he goes and Brooks and Nofo among others stay then they can kiss my support goodbye.

The reality is when a coaching role opens up you never know who puts their hand up.

Green isn't the answer.

Flanagan is a similar style coach to Madge but the difference is what he did at the Sharks on pathways was very different to what Madge has done years gone by. He has a track record of at least building structures & development lines of sorts. I don't want him here but at the sametime would be interested to see what he could do with a blank canvas.

Ciraldo is probably the next rookie coach on the block that will get a crack, having a heap of roster spots and cash - we have a close location living wise, him being close to the Panthers juniors, working with Api and NRL team might give us a big advantage over next few years to at least do something different and build something. Business wise it could be a good move but he probably wouldn't want to come to the rabble.

Outside of that - never know if someone from an existing club will put their hand up for the move as well. We are in a unique situation. We have plenty of roster spots & cash free. We have Papa and Api coming inbound. Our biggest contracts expire over the next 2yrs as well which gives not just next year but the years after cash and roster spots also.

It's either do it now or don't do it at all.

Great post, highlighting a lot of our current downfalls.

As we've discussed, there is probably 3 to 4 players worth keeping in the top 30 and the rest aren't good.

People don't want to play for us.
Clubs in the worst state it's ever been.

I’m done until the Pascoe fiasco ends . New CEO with some clout and give Madge and Sheens 2 years to restore the reputation of Wests Tigers.
 
The boardroom is full of people who understand business, the ceo is running a club turning a profit, as far as they're concerned everything's fantastic. Turn the money tap off and then we will see some serious change. Rothfield was saying last week our jersey sponsorship is sold out for the next three years, that's all the board and ceo care about.

difference is noffo and Brooks are contracted, a club needs to take the players and both are on good money

Funny the other 15 clubs actually try to succeed at rugby league. No wonder we are a farce.

He is doing pretty good. Not compared to me but compared to your average Joe. He manages all the Finance projects within the Commonwealth Bank. I don't work there anymore so I suppose I can say which bank it is.

He is a gun. One of the best two bosses I had in 20 years.

How are you actually going to do this.
Boycott what? Games, season ticket holders? We are not members and we have no voting rights.
We've already paid for this year and it's a TV sport.
Are you going to tell me your not going to watch it on TV, noone cares.
The more you complain the more sponsors will jump ship or sign up.
The more you complain the more unlikely we are to get marquee players.
We are dammed if do and dammed if we don't.
To make any impact you need to parade outside his office chanting with signs waving and media filming it.
Writing letters will do diddly squat imo.
A partition likewise because they will cover it up.
All we are doing on the forum is venting frustrations, rightfully so I might add.
Nothing will change unless you get a couple of thousand people and make it a public spectacle.
Go to a game and unfold a huge banner calling for the person/s heads, that will get attention.
Anything else, well imo we are wasting our breath and time.

I guess I still believe deep down that if someone is really bad at something and they keep getting told how bad they are at that thing well they might eventually bugger off and do something they aren’t awful at.
 
I have written to the club demanding change. Pascoe has to go, Maguire has to go and players need to take responsibility, and not just put their hands out for a pay cheque after putting in substandard performances. I hope I get a reply but I am not holding my breath.
 
Here is the reply I reckon you will get....

The WTs have been decimated by injuries and suspension...
Our current depth are still in the process of learning all about NRL and need time...
The ones selected arent experienced enough or they are playing out of position just so we can field a team...
The effort is there right across the board...please be patient while we rectify the situation as soon as players become available...Madge is working overtime and his efforts are noted...
Keep hanging in there members and fans,all will be ok soon...
