hasn't shown any significant form that I can see, even on today's game...Are we utilizing him at his best OR he is just not built for speed anymore??

He did his job in defence but I agree we didn’t see much in attack but he didn’t revive the ball in Space at all so he can only do what he can do

He's still got the speed. It's been hard getting him into gaping open space but. He could be utilised after we gain some confidence and momentum but the current speed of the game is so tight it's hard to imagine that we can get him in that space.

Wow clicked on this thread expecting to see how he hasnt played a bad game this yr after a rough year last yr. Runs hard, makes meters, defence is really impressive. We need to get him more ball in space but has been quality every time this year

And I still reckon he is carrying a bit of an injury,he has done his job this year with little space and ball at times...

Luciano has been our best player this year but I still don't think we are utilising the width he provides. I wouldn't mind using his pace with an early kick in the corner. Or a very early shift. Luciano ends up being a bigger target.

I loved how we used him late in the game though. He was around the middle of the ruck waiting on offloads and trying to pick out tired forwards.

Defensively he's definitely been stronger.

I thought today he did his job, marked up and the Eels defenders crowded in on him creating space for Nofa 2-3 times.

He never got early ball or some space so he is hardly going to carve up.

So far this year he has done his job, my only concern with him is that once he applies any effort to a play he looks gassed instantly & his work rate out of our defensive end is low.

If he could pick his work rate up & he can play multiple weeks in a row I would be alot happier.

I think Joe has been our best player so far this year.
Lucy has improved heaps with how he is defending and staying in position, he is though definitely our most potent attacking weapon. Wish Laurie would run off his inside hip.

I think it might have been the Newcastle game when he was hobbling around, but there was one play where he put the burners on and just blitzed through a few holes. I still think he's got some speed to burn, just a matter of us being able to get it to him in space. Also, for someone who's never been a great defender, he's actually held his own pretty well this year. He definitely looks a much improved player this year as compared to last year. I think it's a just a matter of time before we can figure out the combinations on that side of the ball and get him early ball in space. Will always be a bit clunky with Leilua who seems to be on the receiving end of a lot more line-running / crash ball plays and less early ball this year, but plenty of time left especially now that Hastings is back and should be in the 7 going forward.

Mate JTJ, when everything is right, [fitness and his mindset] is as good as they get.

2 years in I'm still waiting for him to get a decent pass! Even when deep today our passes are still not hitting their mark.

His positional play shows his class and he remains an underutilized weapon.

Jimmy has been very very solid out on the right edge this year. not seeing as much ball as he or we would have hoped for, but he's created a very strong base to start from. throw in the fact that he's only on $150k and he's one of our few players playing above their pay packet. if we work out how to best utilise him in attack he may well play himself into another contract.
