The Liddle tackle and Brooks field goal

are the moments when a season can be resuscitated. When you back yourself and give 110%.
All the boys tonight, and the coach, deserve our gratitude for allowing us to share in their glory.
And to those at the game, I salute you!
The former in the thread title was where the match was won for mine. Without that tackle and the desperation to get there in the first place, there is no glory shot for the point to win the match.

That said, good to hear that Brooks took control in calling the last play and nailed the shot.

Liddle is a fine hooker. He cops a lot of criticism on this forum.
I thought he was on his last chance tonight for mine as I said elsewhere but wished him well.

But played like a guy with nothing to loose and left nothing back. Let's hope this is the break he needs finally.

Nobody deserves it more.

And full marks to Madge for sticking unbiased and keeping the faith.

They are repaying eachother now and us.

Exactly. 38th minute, young hooker, has made a heap of tackles, comes from a long way back to make that tackle.

It was harsh, obvious and early in the match, possibly even the first set that I read the first criticism. Crazy when he was doing everything that Simpkin was rightfully getting praise for such last week. Sadly, it is a pattern.

Joffa was getting into dummy half from early in the match last week to help allow that and Hastings got in there himself later in the first half onwards to help out tonight.

I think there's a lot less standing there waiting for someone else to do it the last couple weeks...
Which isn't a bad thing.

To be fair, From the first game we've had blokes getting into DH to help out...
Just was a bit clunky - Starting to see the fruits of it now.

The criticism has been warranted albeit he has had a lot of injuries. This was perhaps the best game of his career and if he can continue like this he'll be a fine player. No absolutely atrocious mistakes, he got to the ptb, didn't pass forward, ran at the right time and steered us around well. This was a way more mature performance than I can remember from him.

I think the reasoning isn’t about effort.

The reasoning is because his service is sometimes slow and never on the chest.

I think the perfect combo is Liddle/Simpkin.

Brooks should never go to 9, if Madden is on the bench he should move into 9.

Also I bagged out Madge for having a Centre (Gildart) on the bench for this game.. I hope he never does it again.
