Meninga, Mile and Close would go okay today as well They were just superlative players and it was a pity none played for Balmain or Wests.

Madden make the same move Hastings did eh...I think Madden shoukd go to Super League and back himself
we would be silly to move Hastings douhie and or Brooks for Madden
We need to be looking at recruiting "off the mark speed." its an essential skill, not only for halves and hookers but also outside backs. In fact all players. but a sacrifice for size in the pack is acceptable.Anyone thinks of playing Doueihi at centre needs to realise that he would be one of, if not, the slowest centre in the comp. And you Simply cannot play him alongside Maumolo or Noffa. It's suicide to play two slow players side by side. If Doueihi plays centre we need to find a winger to go outside him. Maybe Peni
Sort of hard to get speed in the team we have Ken M and Noffa here for the next few seasons. Could Ken play centre and try get Jordan Hill back for his wing?We need to be looking at recruiting "off the mark speed." its an essential skill, not only for halves and hookers but also outside backs. I also want him in the side and think he is a very good player.
I also feel he doesn't get critiqued as much as other players & he has some large areas that need to be improved if he is to be a success be it 5/8th, centre, fullback or another role.
He'll be lucky to crack it in first grade anywhere other than centre. Doesn't have the motor for the forwards, nor the defensive will. He's good close to the line at centre and can probably set up his winger. Not good defensively but I think we've improved as there as a team. Slow, poor defender, ball hog...I think we've all been calling out our centres for the past few years for doing exactly that.
5/8, he's no chance.
Our issue is our fundamental lack of genuine pace on the wings.
He misses a lot, can't pass left, he makes a lot of wrong decisions. He's not as good as you think he is. If he can work on a few things he can play centre.I can't see him moving to the forwards.
You miss out on some of his positive attributes though. He hits hard. He can throw a really good long pass to his right. He can ball play. He is a great runner of the footy and busts the line a lot. He has a wicked bomb. He can put in a short kick as well. He is great under the high ball. He plays with passion and a will to win.
He has a lot to work on but I'd build around him and Hastings. They are our two best players.
My only concern with Doueihi is how he comes back from injury.
Yeah … if he’s not that good, apart from Hastings, the rest of the team must be useless in comparison. He misses a lot, can't pass left, he makes a lot of wrong decisions. He's not as good as you think he is. If he can work on a few things he can play centre.
No need for anyone to ask how you really feel about Doueihi after that biting assessment. He'll be lucky to crack it in first grade anywhere other than centre. Reading some of the forums opinions on players makes me feel like I am on a prank show waiting for everyone to reveal they have just been taking the piss the whole time. I just cannot fathom how people could watch last year and not believe that Doeuihi is an outstanding young player with significant potential. In my opinion he was our best player last year, improved as the season went on, displayed genuine leadership and is only 22 years old.He misses a lot, can't pass left, he makes a lot of wrong decisions. I think obsession with speed is such limited perspective in all football codes. Sure we'd all love to have it, but there are many ways to win against your opponent on the football field. Players like Burton, Hiku, Croker, Gagai, Parker and many more have all succeeded as centres without top end speed in recent years. I personally think Doeuihi was great at centre the few games he had and would of continued to succeed if he didn't have someone as poor as Mbye inside him.
I think that Hastings and Doeuihi will be our long term halves. Hastings has shown how effective you can be as a half without top end speed when you can shorten the middle third of the field with your positioning, hold the line with footwork and depth of engagement and create confusion by using multiple options and being a big body threat yourself. I'm not a Brooks hater and wouldn't mind him staying and Doeuihi playing in the centres, but I think he moves on when the club inevitably asks him for a significant pay reduction on his next contract.
In summary I just can't understand how people can't see Doeuihi as one of the best players and assets the club has.
NRL halves are 500k+ players.
Brooks will need a pay cut regardless. We have 3 of them and maybe even 4. I don't get the hate for Madden. He was as good as Brooks when Hastings was out. Brooks might be a better player but it's close.
The club has to somehow balance our cap and be prepared to make tough decisions.
In order of priority I think it's really clear:-
1. Hastings
2. Doueihi
3. Brooks
4. Madden
It also depends upon cost.
You got any news on player signing? He misses a lot, can't pass left, he makes a lot of wrong decisions. He's not as good as you think he is. If he can work on a few things he can play centre.
Well, you can quote me on it when he comes back if you like but he's not playing anywhere but centre. I'll be happy to be proven wrong.Yeah … if he’s not that good, apart from Hastings, the rest of the team must be useless in comparison.

Injury aside I feel like that is pretty obvious.Well, you can quote me on it when he comes back if you like but he's not playing anywhere but centre. I'll be happy to be proven wrong.
Oh yeah, thanks for mentioning his lack of speed...all the players you mentioned are faster than Doeuihi. He did plenty of good things but his defence at times was abysmal and he took plenty of wrong options. He's never played as well as Brooks has the past two weeks, particularly defensively so I can't see him at 5/8. He's not a fullback. He may make a decent centre but I'd have T'oa in front of him at the moment and Garner, defensively, has his measure.Reading some of the forums opinions on players makes me feel like I am on a prank show waiting for everyone to reveal they have just been taking the piss the whole time. AD, when he's fit, will play either ⅝, Centre or Fullback depending where he's needed.Well, you can quote me on it when he comes back if you like but he's not playing anywhere but centre. I'll be happy to be proven wrong.
