Daily Telegraph is complete and utter garbage.
The SMH is still remarkably... a pretty good newspaper.
But the Guardian tells it like it really is as it's independent.
the Guardian Please they are pro left like the Telegraph is pro right
take the blinkers off and see the publications for what they are... they are biased
No problems with either publication but when you read Telegraph you expect a right of centre point of view like the Guardian you expect a left of centre point of view
Neither are independent and favour one side over another

I expect lies and gossip from the Telegraph and a leftist point of view from the Guardian. I think the Guardian wrote an article or I heard a journalist from the Guardian claiming the deficit didn't matter. Just spend more money.

One thing I've started to do is to look into issues in more detail. The problem is there is only so much time and so much stuff is boring.

I tried to read the IPCC report. So many people stating how bad global warming is and yet I bet basically none of them have read the IPCC report. I gave up pretty quickly. It's a monolithic mess.

A donkey vote isn't technically a wasted vote. You're just voting 1 through to whatever down the page. It's a legitimate vote, it's just whomever is first on the ballot will get your vote. Donkey voting is not an informal/wasted vote.

It’s certainly formal, whether it’s wasted depends on your perspective I guess. Essentially you’re giving a proxy vote to the random ballot draw for the paper. If you’re going to submit a formal vote you’d think someone could take a minute and think about who they want to run the country for the next three years. If you truly don’t care write that on your ballot and don’t number any boxes.

I think some people incorrectly associate donkey voting with informal voting. I know a couple of people in my circles don't know the difference (to be fair they are extremely apathetic about politics and wouldn't vote if they didn't have to.)

Thats true.

And also II think its a reflection that people feel disenfranchised without a political outlet for their views.

I hope you've settled down @Cultured_Bogan. 😉
I'm not saying @Tiger Tragic is a deluded fool...you stated that.
As @Cobarcats said...you are one of the nicest blokes on here, but I feel you have lowered your standard in a big way by replying as you did.
You are a Forum Leader and I feel you should be setting a better example.

I was shocked 😱 and very disappointed 😡 reading your post with the way you expressed yourself.
I feel you should make a large contribution to the swear jar, then write out 100 times
"I will use better words next time" 👍 😍
