Women can even protest without being shot. Thanks ScomoThat’s the great thing about a democracy, we are lucky enough to be able to have a political decision without being executed or sent to a Gulag.

They can also vote, (Thank heavens).Women can even protest without being shot. Thanks Scomo
Don't confuse the gift of the gab with actual ability. Morrison is that confident loud mouth manager we know. The basically incompetent type that most all of us have worked for/with that is there on bluster and undermining others. Not a fan of Gillard or Rudd or Keating but at least they knew detail and knew what they were talking about
Albo is an economic Moron and a policy moron, just no across the detail
It won't be easy under Albanese
I hope you've settled down @Cultured_Bogan. 😉
I'm not saying @Tiger Tragic is a deluded fool...you stated that.
As @Cobarcats said...you are one of the nicest blokes on here, but I feel you have lowered your standard in a big way by replying as you did.
You are a Forum Leader and I feel you should be setting a better example.
I was shocked 😱 and very disappointed 😡 reading your post with the way you expressed yourself.
I feel you should make a large contribution to the swear jar, then write out 100 times
"I will use better words next time" 👍 😍
Edit...I just want it to be clear that I am not defending Tiger Tragic in any way.
Yeah I'm sure all those university-educated engineers, doctors, actuaries and the like are all "completely closed minded, indoctrinated and dangerous". Idiotic anti-intellectualism at its finest...
Well said Swordy, unfortunately through these last 2/3 years of tough times for most, the good people of Aust have found that there are always 2 kinds of people, the vax program is a highlight...I honestly think that the MSM and social media is to blame for most of it...An example of this is that I walked into the supermarket yesterday, only one person wore a mask in the whole store,a really nice lady asked the person why she needed to wear a mask when the mandates have been lifted, her answer was, because people that dont wear a mask can make me sick, their the reason that we will never get out of this pandemic....I laughed to myself and just walked on...
I have noticed though that in any kind of conversation of late whether in the club, pub or on here,if you have a differing opinion to others, its more aggression that is shown in the conversation rather than sensible dialogue...(Im right your definately wrong type aggression)....
Any way to reiterate what you lastly said about being kind, caring etc....
There are but three words....
HOPE...FAITH...LOVE....
The greatest of these is LOVE....
My feeling is that interest rates will be higher than anyone imagines in coming years.
Also QE is being recovered so a major contraction in money supply.
Inflation is one reason.
But the main reason is that the U.S. dollars reserve currency status is under threat because the people with PhDs that helped create their economic policies apart from creating the FIAT system they failed to give adequate considerations to what would happen if nations including other superpower countries like China and Russia as well as countries with large commodity bases reduce U.S. dollar trade.
U.S. dollar trade in 2007 was 70%. Nowadays it is under 50%.
Russia has announced it is moving to a commodity and gold backed currency by years end. China and the middle east soon after. Obviously, in that climate higher bond yields are required to make the U.S. dollar more attractive as a home for capital.
It is another reason that they are so zealous with regards the Ukraine war.
The architecture of America's financial system entails global hegemony.
Obviously that was a flawed outlook.
And our very own Costello sold most of Australia's gold in 99 at $250 U.S. an ounce.
He isn't on jobseeker but rather the head of the the future fund.
That's your opinion and your entitled to it.You are abusive yourself, you just use condescension.
CB spoke to that character exactly the way he deserves to be spoken to.
I'm surprised to be honest the amount of division amongst people, and that includes this forum with lack of respect for others views.
If someone likes Scomo, thats their choice. I someone likes Albo, that's their choice. If someone likes independents, thats their choice. If someone wants to draw a penis on their ballot paper, thats their choice too. Its a right of freedom in our very lucky country.
Discussing the issues is one thing, but claiming someone else is wrong because they share a different view, have a different life perspective, have different reasons or place different values or priorities on certain things is just divisive.
The joys of a relaxed country which is a far more genuine democracy than most.!
Even when some one states what they claim to be a fact.....you might know it is completely false. Respectfully point out what you know and help educate your fellow man. If they take your advice/learnings, then good for you. If they dont, that is their choice - and it's not wrong either. There is no need to repeat repeat repeat. If its not taken on the first respectful occasion, move on. Politics is just so devisive at the moment for some reason, overseas and in Australia. Is it social media and everyone thinking their opinion is worth more than others or something?
One thing is for sure, if you take a moment to be happy, respect others, be polite, caring and kind, our country will be far better regardless of who is running the country.
I don't think so sadly.I hope everyone budgeted for double digit interest rates. I know I did.
I don't think so sadly.
Trouble is the RBA led by Dr Lowe and Dr Debelle PhDs told everyone repeatedly interest rates will remain low till 2024 and low by historical standards.
So some people took that expert advice and got mortgaged to the hilt and now are sucked in.
There must be some accountability.
And think someone (rare) who saved 100k bought in thinking the RBA had their back and now as prices fall there goes their deposit. There's a diverse range of people who will be hit by this.
There'll be people who had to have everything and mortgaged themselves to the hilt when they could have settled for less who will get ruined by a 25 basis point increase. I have to say I find it hard to feel sorry for those types.
There'll also be people who scrimped and saved to get a deposit and could only afford the absolute bare minimum available just to get in the market. They've risked it just to enter the market and try to own their own home and build equity. An interest rate rise might cripple them or ruin their ability to save. Anything goes wrong with their property they may have to extend their mortgage to make repairs or they may have to sell in a market where they may be a property fire sale due to potential bulk mortgage defaults which may see them sell for less than what they have bought for. That's heartbreaking for people who just wanted to own their own home and were prepared to start at the bottom just to get their foot in the door.
And think someone (rare) who saved 100k bought in thinking the RBA had their back and now as prices fall there goes their deposit.
And business and others who may have factored in these assumptions in their models.
I think if I was in politics I'd almost be hoping to lose this election. Next few years will be messy .Yep, may be some more government relief required in future. Like I said, ALP or LNP, I don't think either will be able to handle the shit fight coming.
I think if I was in politics I'd almost be hoping to lose this election. Next few years will be messy .
Agree whoever wins it will be a crapshow, if Libs win it will be last term for sure and if Labor wins they will be a one term government. Kind of like the poison chaliceI think if I was in politics I'd almost be hoping to lose this election. Next few years will be messy .
