Any SR trials against men. Or just age group stuff. Youtube all seems to be age group.
Good luck to the kid. Might be the answer...

Played a quarter and a bit in a super rugby trial at 18 against grown men/Argentinian and Australian internationals. He's the same height as some of the loose forwards 6'3

He has been going well at training by all reports and does look like a footballer, apparently has very good hands. Although isn’t very quick apparently but that may improve a little over time, boys go on camp up the coast next week so let’s hope some hard training combined with some very refreshing amber beverages after training can help the boys bond even further. No scandals please boys, and if there is a punch up, can we please keep it in house…😄

This kids a freak runs 200 in 9.7 He’s a tenpin bowling star they say he should of been in the curling team for the Winter Olympics they also reckon he is a champion at hopscotch marbles and bull rush if he brings that form to us we will make the 8

Do you mean playing style Earl or what he done off the field, $, contracts, fail to live up to expectations at WT?

He doesn't come across as a moron gangster type. He may have a similar style in that they are big centres who can power over the top of people.

Your first bit was mostly what I took from the photo from 6 or 7 years ago posted recently. Half of the players were displaying their gangster hand signals and the others not.

Not that all can be tarred with the same brush, but no prizes for guessing which ones had varying degrees of successful careers, with Ava and JAC still in top squads and Edwards probably played about double the NRL average.

Seems Junior Tupou is from the latter variety and thanks to @Kaito for providing the schoolboy clip.

My thoughts as well, especially as so many big units often come back to the field when their size is no longer such an advantage. That said, the little that I have seen of him it wasn’t size that he was reliant upon, rather a good swerve, anticipation, with decent step and pace.

As always, defence is where most are found out at NRL level , so let's hope that he is okay there and can find a voice if he is good enough to dislodge Laurie to play at the back for us.

Thanks for that. Involved in two plays in quick succession not long after coming on and basically nothing else as hard to get involved as a rugby winger with the ball not coming towards you.

Showed a decent leap, despite a mistimed jump for a high ball after being partially checked and did his job taking the hit up from a scrum, finding his front and maintaining possession. Cannot glean much from it other than he played his role and didn't make an error, so solid I suppose.

yeah agreed - not much for us to see in that at all. I dont think he looked overawed by playing against older footballers though.

Is he debuting? I thought Pauga was playing

Nvm they both are

Madge is just being a boofhead now
Peachy did enough to hold the centre spot, and his experience would be good for the kid.

- I saw Pauga have about 4 tries put past him by Knights ressies…
Cowboys will terrorise them!!

I think it’s for the balance of the side. We need peachy in that 14 role?

Peachey should be in the centre’s with Liddle on the bench Pauga has absolutely no idea on how to tackle he is worst than Gildart & then Maguire wonders why his job is insecure this decision is pathetic especially after Peachey played his best game in the centre’s last week.

Tupou isn't ready but he has a lot of potential. Imo he'll be fine. It's Pauga that we all know is a liability. His defense in reserves is ordinary so how's he going to handle Val Holmes?
