Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

In terms of cap space we were smart with our money making sure we have plenty of cash to spare

Players are coming for Madge and Sheens not Sheens and Trent Barrett

You know more than I do,

Three years handcuffed by 15 years of a poor club culture that attracted overpaid lazy players and coaches looking for a quick fix.
Surprising how a few people knew all about Hartigan once he was sacked. Barely a peep for 3 years

Its also pretty common knowledge that Liddle , Brooks and Mbye were the leaders of the anti madge system
Already got rid of 1, liddle on the way out and brooks might be fine without someone to back up the same opinion. If not, we've got someone eager and skilled to step into 6.

By the way, thanks for the inside info LF. I assume your info is actually from a bug packed into the aforementioned fedora?

Extend brooks, just on a more realistic salary in comparison his contribution to wining games.
Would be nice if he did a Chris Lawrence and restructured his contract to a lower amount over several years so we can use the cash to improve the squad as a whole.

No expectation he should do that as he is entitled to his money from a back ended contract, but could really help our 2023 recruitment with Brooks on less cash.

Mate I get down and very negative with our club, especially over the past few years..but I like what I am seeing at present, even if it’s not transferring into wins. For the first time in yonks there seems real spirit in the place
You are not that much different to a hell of a lot of people on here who love the club and at times can be negative and critical of the club and in all honesty have a right to feel that way.

It's been a bloody long time since we looked likely to have any sort of sustained success and it's our God given right to be down and critical of the club, but God help the media or any outsiders that criticize our beloved team, that right is reserved for us and no one else.

I think that realistically most of us didn't expect us to be world beaters this year with the roster that we have and that the reasonable expectation that we would be happy to see a team with a much tougher resolve, that would be competitive in most games, play for the full 80 minutes and not have their heads go down when the calls go against us.

The number of games that we were going to win was not necessarily going to be the yard stick that we would judge the success of this season on, but the attitude and the way that we competed would be the measure.

I think we have achieved that and I am very proud of my team considering the injuries we have had with a squad that doesn't have an abundance of talent or depth in key positions and some of the dud calls we have had that have cost us games.

Being realistic, this was always going to be a rebuilding year with the main focus being on the 2023 season and it's early days yet but I can also see a change coming over the place and can only feel that some good times are not too far away.
