Brent Naden #256

Naden was good with Penrith. We don't have Cleary and Luai in the halves, but we're not completely rudderless like the Dogs so we might be able to get something out of him. I'll give him a few games before kicking the signing.

Nofoaluma still suffering from a "concussion" three weeks after the fact.
The Nofo thing seems mighty strange. It smells of a cover up for something more siniste, but maybe that’s just me

Am I the only one who smells a rat.
Gus wants Madge knowing he's tenure at the tigers is on an edge. What Gus wants, Gus gets.
Players who signed on under Barrett may elect to stay with a successful coach [I can hear you laughing].
So they give us Naden knowing our centre stocks are poor and if he helps us and we start winning then our big signings for next year might feel more secure and honour their contract.
Then you have Angus, would he come if Madge is not coach and Flannigan is.
The whole circus is starting to get weird.
Maybe Madge stays and we still get our boys plus Angus and more......
Anyway Naden is a good catch. I just hope he gives our building of indigenous players a good name.

For the price we paid for him over the next 2 years, in a position we are desperate for, it’s an okay signing…. If he ends up in KOE cup. $250k is not overpriced to play KOE

To,a and Nader in centres could be quiet good , better than we can do now , unexpected purchase but I’m happy as we get him cheap , 1 and 1/2 season and saving $ 250 k plus is good buying , hope he plays Friday and gets a double in our victory , to beat them we just need to score twice early and in quick succession , it will break them , Has Mr Sheens polish all over it

It's poor business for the Dogs. Regardless with how he has played there. No one has played well over there this season.

They have already paid 200k this season and paying another 150k next season for a player who was only at the club for 10 rounds.

Ironically both clubs were after Naden this time 12 months ago with the Dogs offering 400k a season and the Tigers 350k. Now the Tigers have signed him for 200k this season and 250k next season, with the Dogs in the hole for 200k against their salary cap this season and 150k next season for a player who is no longer there.

I just wanna ask who is the perfect singing to cover centre that isn’t currently wanted by there club and that we could sign immediately? This is it I really don’t think the club could have done any better to fill the position

I never was a fan of Naden, yes he was not bad at the Riff, woeful at the Dogs and now with us,Madge might be able to get something worthwhile out of him if he plays centre which we need badly....Cayliss can throw the tackling bags at him and maybe he can improve defensively...lets hope for the best...we have had the worst in results, but the boys are putting in the effort for 80 with a makeshift NRL side thats mostly youth and ressies....

On NRL website now.

The Wests Tigers have signed Bulldogs winger Brent Naden effective immediately with the flyer named to possibly take on his old club on Friday night.

Just a day after Bulldogs coach Trent Barrett announced his resignation, Naden has linked with the joint venture until at least the end of the 2023 season and has been included in the reserves under Michael Maguire.

Naden, 26, gained a release from the final year of his contract on Tuesday after he joined the Belmore club this season following a three-year stint at the Panthers.
Won't be the last Doggies connection to WT'S

So if Burton has a clause in his contract (I read this on the forum), what are the Dogs' chances of retaining him? Are we interested and in a position to make an attractive offer?

Dogs fans rejoicing with this news. It would be hilarious if he played well on Friday in a win for us.

Dogs fans need to look a little harder at their team. They have the games premier winger and he has had his wings clipped by a lack of a decent 7 and 9 laying a platform for the three quarter line. Granted, Naden is definitely a player that rises to the level around him rather than the other way around, but I am sure the Duke and and Brooks/Madden/AD can get something out of him. I'll give him some time before going after him.

In the centres or wing, I don't think he can be any worse than Gildart.
