Hearing that the lead of my favourite band Chisels rang him at about 3am this morning as well.

I truly expect that everyone with an open mind will soon find Albanese to be a great PM. One doesn't have to be loud and charismatic to be a very effective leader and I also expect him to work really well with the independents, even if in majority.

Interesting times. The LNP could be in the wildness for awhile. They may have to something radical and try and get some of the Teal to join.
LNP are completely wedged. The small L rich city Libs hate the big L yokel, religious and social conservative stuff that appeals to the outer suburbs people and vice versa.
Howard’s seat likely held by ALP, and Abbott and Turnbulls seat held by independents.
And of Treasurers - Costello, hockey and frydenberg seats all held by independents.
If thats not a sign I don’t know what is!

If Dutton is clever, which I don’t think he is, he will allow a Brendan Nelson type to be the ’wilderness leader’ during the first couple of thankless years in opposition. You need someone with just enough nouse to fix things internally, ride out Albo’s honeymoon period in the polls and have some teeth to jump on the first few inevitable naive Labor ‘pink batts’ slip ups.

But Dutton won’t be able to help himself, he’ll take the leadership, make the Libs even less popular (if that’s possible) and ride the popularity/preferred prime minister down into the 20s%, at which point I do not know what happens.

So for the Libs it’s going to get a lot, lot worse before it gets better, they need to acknowledge that they handed Labor government on a silver platter in the biggest example of ‘governments get voted out, not voted in’ we have seen in a very long time. They can only rebuild once they’ve done that soul searching and I’m not remotely convinced it’s going to actually happen.

Also, have you compared like for like over the recent periods of both governments with other countries in the OECD to see how they performed relative to other comparable nations? Please get back to us when you have.

My wife works in age care so big wage rises, invisible nurses and free child care .I might find the time to study to be a solicitor for free and represent transgender equality cases......thanks Mr Bean won't take long to have us going bankrupt

NSW State Govt is responsible for pay increases for nurses, doctors, paramedics, teachers, train drivers and other NSW Public Servants. The Commonwealth can assist with funding for Hospitals, specialist services and dare I say it getting vaccines, PPG for States.

maybe more funding might end up with the hospitals we will see

Albo won fair and square, we are lucky that we can have a vote to decide who runs our wonderul country, a lot of people in the world don't get a chance to vote.

I don’t think it should be a free-for-all.. like you i don’t want to see over population.
However a lot of businesses have been crippled not getting the labour they need to operate.

Compared to most countries, there isn’t a big difference between the two major parties anyway.
