Laurie most definitely isn't getting 600k. He's probably middle of the pack, if not a bit below when compared to the other fullbacks in the league. Obviously has a lot of the things you're looking for in an FB, but needs to put together a sustained run of good footy and, more importantly, injury free run.

Can he? I'm sure he can. Can he do it at a first grade standard? Most likely not.
Sheens basically ruined Tim Moltzen's career 10 or so years ago trying to turn him from a half with potential to a failure at fullback when he was only in his early 20s.
Brooks is going to be 28 soon, maybe he can transition to a full time 14 but that's about it. No need to experiment to fit him in the team anyway - he's not a "must play" calibre player. If he's our best 6, he plays there. If he's our best 14, he plays there. If he's not either of those, we drop him/let him go elsewhere.
It's what happens when a bloke like Brooks is getting $1 million a year to produce very little. Other blokes look across the room and think, "well, if he's getting that much then surely I can get X amount"

Do you really think Brooks is that bad number 14 ? I think he's a solid to good First grade 5/8 worth around 550K/620K ayear and in a strong team maybe 650K at times I think Brooks has wasted his career at the Tiger's

And I think with his speed maybe worth a shot preseason game or two at fullback
Be lucky to get what we're paying him elsewhere....
Middle of which pack - Almost every club has a much better starting Fullback (If not 2)

He should be given a go there. Someone else suggested it and I thought it was stupid but I'm on that bandwagon now.
I'd pick him at fullback If Laurie is out and we have AD, Hastings and Brooks in the team. It's worth a shot. If Laurie isn't performing I'd give him a shot as well.
Hodgson wasn't big. Shannon Gallant wasn't big either.

600k for fullback is alright but he's still away from getting that. He's still got a lot to learn.
