Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It's very emotive because madge is such a good bloke.

But if we look at the facts, post review, the club have taken away Madge's control. They had to tell him to delegate to the other coaches and have seen improvements.

Madge hires his cronies as assistant coaches which were just terrible. Did the same at souths I'm pretty sure.

To turn the club into winners do we really want a coach who has to be told how to coach. The coach should be doing these things already.

Chammas also mentioned api and papali pretty much just came for the money and players won't come for less until we start winning again. Said generally the players never leave the club for the coach.

I'd say he 100 percent has contacts at the club, did you watch it?
You think Api and Papali couldn't have got the same money or more elsewhere?

Didn't he get snaked at south's? Probably hired cronys as a reaction, still a stupid thing to do

Haven’t seen it yet.

A strong part of the anti Madge sentiment over the last few seasons was that no players want to play under Madge.
Now we have 2 decent signings and it’s “no player leaves for a coach” and “they only came for the money”.

Also players won’t come unless we start winning?

We ain’t winning and we didn’t pay overs whilst Madge was still here.

I did and it’s a narrative he’s run for a while. The facts are not correct Papalli and Api are signed well under what they could get on the market. He doesn’t speak to any decision makers he was caught lying late last year. No doubt he has sources but of what consequences. His mates were running an agenda to get Flanagan hired.

It goes back quite some time - I am told Chammas doesn't like Maguire and has always been keen to run anti-Madge articles; been this way for years. Pretty sure the guy does not have a direct line to Tigers power-brokers. He probably pieces together information from tidbits from player managers.

I know articles can be described as "anti-Madge" but the wider issue of WTs heading into the fourth year of poor results cannot be pigeonholed in this manner. It is not about Madge as an individual, but the performance of WTs on-field. I'm pro-Weststigers not anti-Madge for the reason it is not about him. The individual moves aside for the greater good of the club.

Bennett, Bellamy. Players do move to play under coaches. Lifestyle. Not just the money.

Westslife pod managed to get chammas on tonight.

They are very pro madge and club and were on the defence most the interview.

Chammas comments were interesting, said the club definitely asking themselves if madge is right for the club or can another coach improve us more.

While I know it's easy to be subjective and bang on about the injuries and how hard the players are trying, but the club are the only ones that know what the deal is and if they can be level headed and objective hopefully they can come up with the right decision.

something is in the air, Give it a listen.

Chammas hasn’t had good mail on us for a while, he is guessing. Results not happening = pressure building.

Ok, what facts are you basing this on? Sometimes it's hard to accept your club and coach aren't the best.

I have never been a fan of weakening positions with make shift players. Ever position should have coverage even if they come from State Cup.

T'oa is not a full back so let's put him back to Centre and not ruin his career like Moltzen's career,

Let's see for the rest of the season a Centre combination of T'oa and Naden.

I would play AD off the bench as he can cover many position including forwards.

I rather throw in a State Cup player who knows a bit about full back play there or go hard for a player like Dykes to join immediately.

If Franklin Pele from Cronulla is a prop and not getting a go at NRL then offer him an immediate spot in WT top 30 and play him off the bench.

With Garner, Tuilagi and LL Cool J not in the picture in 2023 then one of them can give up their top 17 spot. Why develop them further for another club to benefit.

With the two quality players coming in 2023 then 2022 should be development year for players who can take WT forward in the future. We all know that WT at present can't match it with sides like Penrith, Storm and Cowboys this season.

I like Laurie but needs to be on the field more and show more before he can earn an upgrade.

Need to sort out Maguire's contract so players know what is happening at the club.

If David is still showing signs of concussion and headaches no need to rush him back into side. AJ or Junior can take the wing spot.

Given our issues with the backline and the none use of Kei in RL maybe he should be traded now to free up a spot.
