Michael Maguire leaves club

This is such a multi faceted topic.
As far as I'm aware the NRL team's support staff are not limited by salary cap. Obviously we judge coaches as good or bad.
The fact is, the best coaches usually have the best support teams; ie; assistant coaches, head of performance, strength and conditioning staff, sprint coaches, physics, doctors, dietitians etc.
Top NRL coaches come with their own top team.
What I've heard about tigers:
We don't have a dietitian. We have many issues with poor treatment of injuries and rehab, we have an inexperienced performance staff, Madge has changed the performance staff multiple times, he has changed the assistant coaches.
That's a snapshot of footy.
Then there are the pathways to manage from Cup, flegg, ball, matts etc.
There's also recruitment.

Did everyone see the YouTube series on the panthers leading into the 2021 season? It's a snapshot of what a professional organisation looks like. They even had a segment with the dietitian design of the meals which were made by the chefs at the panthers club.
It just showed that it's not a level playing field in the support issues.
I'm sure the COE will address alot of these problems to help us compete down the track, but we are along way off the pace off the field with the top clubs.
Was it jack Gibson that said winning starts in the front office? The game got alot more professional in the last 3 years. It's fast and we are not keeping up.

Brandy was asked on SEN if it's true winning starts in front office.

His response was the club truly turned around when they got Gus and Matt cameron in to set up their pathways and it turned to gold from there.

There is no quick fix in the nrl if you don't set up your pathways correctly you just fall further behind.

It's disgraceful that our pathways have been ignored during the Fiasco years.

The fact that we couldn't get lattrel. Even paying 200k overs a year was telling. Madge can't attract a marquee. I think he has done well to get this far... Time for a change.... Time for a young coach that can bring these youngsters through. API and pap will come. They got good deal. It's Hastings that I would be worried about

Hastings is my big concern TBH... IF we let Madge go he will be reluctant to stay and if Madge gets another head coaching gig.. Bulldogs will most likely sign Madge and bring Hastings over with him.. At least Sheen's has said they are now working on AD, Hastings and Daine L.

So be it.

Latrell didn’t come because he didn’t want to be the marquee signing in a struggling club. Nothing to do with Madge.

So when we sack Madge, and the new coach( if there is one available) doesn't really like the roster Madge left him . . . and we have to wait 2 years to purge that roster . . . then another 2 for him to build HIS team . . . well, do we have the patience for another re-build if (when) this new coach doesn't answer our prayers ?
I mean, if our players are prone to dropping off a cliff like last night, whoever the F is coaching ain't gonna change a thing.
Injuries are a thing.
Our lack of class is a thing.
Our lack of heart is a thing.
Our lack of depth is a thing.
Our coach is a thing too. But not the only thing that's wrong with this team/club.
Sacking Madge and replacing him with anyone short of Bennett or Martina (and we ain't getting either of them ) ain't gonna change a thing.
Our list of failed coaches and fruitless re-builds over the past 10+ years surely teaches us something ?
