Whilst we're having a gripe at Benny, I'll throw my two bobs worth in.
Benny was without a doubt one of the greatest hookers Balmain ever had, rugby league as a whole even.
I have so much respect for him as an ex-player who revolutionised the hooking role.
I do however resent him being the 'voice' for tiger fans.
Whenever he comes out with outlandish statements about the club it is scripted in a way that it comes from the supporters.
In actual fact a lot of his statements are hyped up garble and is not supported by us.
We are Weststigers, not Balmain.
I've been saying for a long time now that the NRL needs to have an official representing supporters, a spokesperson.
The players have a voice so why don't we have somebody who is our voice.
We the spectators are the most valuable commodity the NRL has. Without supporters you will have no viewers, sponsors or any following at all.
We need a voice, and Benny me ol mate....your not it.

The only people making a fool of themselves are the Fox people who think their opinion matters, who think their gossip stories make an impact. Their clickbait approach to journalism is getting more and more apparent. In this day and age where everyone knows everything, they're getting antsy because they don't know.

4 rounds of footy without any controversy, Maroons camp for once in their lives have no flu, no injuries, no news. Freddy is keeping a tight ship, no one wants to talk to them. They've released as many anti-Gus articles as they can.

When there is no news, they make up news. Right now is as obvious as ever before.
💯 I hope more footy organisations remain tight-lipped on their business. It will force the media to have to go back to the ways of proper journalism. I.e. they have to ring a player/administrator and request an interview, and it has to be a fair interview, no "gotcha" questions.

I put every media bebacle down to this clown.
If he wants to get the big bucks he needs to earn them, and earn the trust of the supporters.
He seems to only want to be seen when it suits him, like when there is a WT doco on or when announcing player signings.
What CEO of a company would allow their product to be defamed and fend for themselves.
What CEO would allow his employees to be attacked by others, to fend for themselves.
Players and coaches all have managers but in the end they all work for WT.
I'm sorry to all the Pascoe supporters, but this guy needs to be available to answer the hard questions, after all the buck should stop with him. There is no transparency.
We are continuing to look like a circus because we don't have "Captain" steering the ship.... absolute circus.

Great post Cobar,
Although many similar good posts have been written in the past, you hit the nail on the head with this one.

I think it's a fair enough call sacking him. I wouldn't have done it, but he's had more than enough chances.

I can only hope we have a good coach lined up. You'd think that every coach who wants a chance in the NRL would think this is a good time to get a position with 3 jobs opening up. There won't be another job for 2 years at least. Most would arguably say that we are a better club than Dogs/Warriors currently.

Still, Madge will always have my respect despite the results. Good luck mate.

Madge was classy as through this whole debacle.
So many opportunities to call out players and people within the club, never once pointed the finger.
He genuinely cared and wanted the club to succeed.
Players who were willing to buy into his system thrived.
Anyways ,could be a smart move by sheens.
