Whatever it is, take a break from it if you can. I’m about to take 6 weeks off work because I’m fed up with what’s it’s doing to me. I don’t believe in the whole “get off the internet“ tripe. Not in this day and age, it’s the world now. People’s lives are online. While I think it’s definitely beneficial to walk away and have a break, others should try not to be assholes either, because you never know what a person is going through and what might push them over the edge.

Mate I think there is something to be said about taking a tech break and spending more time in nature. But at the end of the day you just need to have a thicker skin when on the Internet. Randoms online have no idea what you're going through so you shouldn't value their opinions.

I agree, you shouldn’t. But people do. When your mental state is that far gone, it can’t be helped. There’s onus on both sides.

Opinions are one thing, attacking when aware, especially not only singularly is another matter altogether.

I have to agree with that.

I got all my news, my entire life, my work everything is on my computer. My Google feed, Youtube, Netflix everything is linked.

You can't "avoid" stuff anymore. All apps are linked to each other.

I just always laugh when others tell someone how they should feel, or give generic advice thinking it's easy to do.

Thats it. Whether you like it or not, its an integral part of life these days. Some onus needs to be put on those who choose to be assholes to not be assholes.

What issues Paul Green was having in his life we will never really know. Being involved in professional sport certainly doesn't make you immune from developing depression. If anything the weight of expectations and relentless media scrutiny is likely in some cases to have a negative impact on metal well-being. A very sad loss.
