What's the alternative Einstein?
In case you missed it; A coach, patient with juniors, cherry picking external recruitment was just sacked.
Maguire may not have been a Bellamy, but he was the best available for the job. Now he's just another bye bye bobbing horse on the WT merry-go-round.
Wests Tigers Management are now on the market "Roll up roll up to the greatest (shit) show on earth".
That sounds tempting to a prospective, self respecting coach doesn't it?
You have a wicked sense of humour!

In case u missed it madge not a development coach. Juniors these day don't want a mad man yelling at them, among other things. Why is that so hard to comprehend

Does anyone find it odd that as soon as Madge is gone we have a club destined for greatness? We now have pathways, junior development, world class juniors waiting to be old enough to play NRL.
Did Madge leave the joint in such great shape?
😂Haha we've got no juniors outside of blokes that are 15 years old- who may or may not be ready for 1st grade in 5, 6 or 7 years. How many of these supposed young superstars are people expecting we are actually able to keep? 1 or 2 out of 20 would be a reasonable expectation IMO.

The thing that confuses me sheens saying “we are looking for someone for the next 3-5 years with all our juniors”

….

Then what the hell was Madge brought in for? And by getting rid of him, how does that change things?

Ii just don’t understand the reasoning.

One can only hope that it was done to enable something else The background to take place.
That’s the thing that makes zero sense.

Sacked because it’s a results business. Haha.

But we are now embarking on a rebuild that we expect to take 3 years.

I.e. more shit results.

Punt Pascoe.

Storm will pick off any that are FG standard anyway

A coach is not singularly responsible for all those areas at a club nor should he ever be.
Maguire worked his arse off to try and turn things around its well documented, but all that really matters is results and in every NRL club we know how it works the coach is always the fall guy.
Yet we are about to embark on a period where the club will ask us not to expect results. Farcical 🤦🏽‍♂️

That's the feeling I get even from those who wanted Maguire gone because he didn't get results.
Assuming the coach was the problem I would expect that most would feel this team has much to prove.

As a supporter for 35 years the losses for the remainder of this year will be received very differently. I’m going to enjoy this roster being shown up for the weak squad they are. I’m sure Madge will too.

Lee claims everyone is accountable. How?
There seems to be a lot of dubious decisions being made. Example, why give a coach a 2 year extension, then proceed to white ant the guy at the start of that extension period?
It appears as though the board is in constant conflict with itself?
Some members not willing to accept the umpire’s decision?
It seems all too easy to point to the ladder position and say the results aren’t there.
Regardless of all the “talking up” of the club, I see the sacking of a coach as a negative move, particularly this coach, it reflects poorly on the organisation more than the coach who was sacked.
The so called review of the football department became simply a which hunt performance appraisal of the coach, in which the numbers were crunched, 3 wins, halfway through the season.
Let’s put aside the Bulldogs win and focus on the wins against Eels and Rabbits. Where did those two wins come from? Let’s just say it didn’t look good for those who wanted Madge out.
We’re now told not to expect results for 3 years as we try to copy the organisational structure and behavioural characteristics of the Panthers. Last time it was the Storm.
If we get the decision makers out of the removal dongas and into a new plush office change the way the decisions are made?

Interested to know peoples thoughts on the new narrative about playing and developing these up and coming juniors that McDonnell and sheens are sprouting. The wording around Madge’s sacking suggest to me that he had his favourites and wasn’t getting results, and wasn’t prepared to play or develop these kids in the near future even though in my opinion none are ready anyway. Was this decision made to break up a selected group that included Madge and a few senior players that had been influencing Madge’s selections and evaluations of certain player performances, I’m not sure? Do sheens and McDonnell want full say in who plays and who doesn’t and Madge wouldn’t allow that, is kimmorley merely a puppet for Sheens and McDonnell? I don’t have the answers just thinking it will be interesting viewing in a few weeks re team selections and you might find 2 or 3 of these under 20’s kids in the top grade by seasons end?
