Luciano Leilua

I'm curious about all the woe in this thread. So much woe, every step and every day just adds to this ongoing consternation.

I am completely indifferent to Luciano Leilua at this stage. Stay, go, sign him off, don't sign him off... I really don't care. He won't get us to the finals in 2022 and sure as hell will have zero involvement in Tigers playing finals 2023. So the machinations of how he finishes his time at Tigers are of no specific concern to me.

All the rumours are irrelevant. I don't get why you guys get yourself in a bind about it all.

Tigers have already cut the coach - that is the big move, the bold move. That is the one that has a large impact on the Tigers' ongoing fortunes. Whether or not LL plays 11 more games for Tigers doesn't do anything.
Why aren't you also completely indifferent to whether people are getting into "a bind" over the matter?

Well two reasons. Firstly it makes me curious. That's the word I used, curious; it piques my interest. I don't see that Luciano's release matters one bit, so I am curious why other people have a totally different reaction.

Also I feel like the constant hand-wringing brings this place down. I am indifferent to Luciano but I am not indifferent to the health and wellbeing of the forum. I've been participating here for 20 years - this forum has comfortably outlived any player, coach or administrator in our club.

No mate, we have seen before what changing the coach does. Sweet FA.
Well that remains to be seen. I often like to think about one of Sterlo's old quotes: "Statistics are a record of the past not a prediction of the future".

It would be a grave error to suggest that any of us know how football results will play out in 2-3 seasons. Most people struggle to consistently tip above 60% in any given week as it is.

He knows the place inside out and would slot right in with Robbie as assistant coach. Memo Robbie: Potter CAN coach.
WOW!!!!!!! 😱 I just realised We have a Very Famous poster here folks 👍.
The one and only Greek Filosofer @Plato 🙂
As you have been on here since 2011.... I reckon someone more learned 🤓 than I would have already noticed You though and so probably commented already.
Keep on keeping on Mr Plato as Your posts help to make this Forum a better place 👍
Edit: I reckon you and Our other resident Filosofer @Merlot would make an awesome combination 👍

Fair enough, good answer. And bonus points for spelling "piques" correctly.

Never our fault, maybe we should wait for things to become official before announcing them?!
Well to be technical Tigers did not announce that LL was joining Cowboys. They announced he was released. If LL is indeed released, or will be soon, or if the parties have agreed to a release, then there's nothing more to it.

It's quite feasible that Tigers needed to issue the statement before naming the team on Tuesday, so to avoid the scrutiny for why LL was absent. The paperwork may be a formality.

OR the paperwork is already done and people are rumour-mongering for no reason.

What Cows do or do not do is not our concern.

He’s leaving… what’re you going on about, acting as if it’s on clubs’ instructions?

Luc actually visited QLD often whilst here anyway

How is that our circus - Complete stuff up by the cows. LL should have got assurances in writing from cows that they had the money.
Definitely not our circus now unless the manager is intentionally playing silly buggers. I would laugh so hard if we have to continue to pay Lucy’s wage this year 🤣.

I used to know a guy quite well who had dealings with him, reckons he had the personality of a wet mop and was really arrogant. I shouldn't judge the guy myself iv never met him, still grinds my gears what he did to the club when he got here, who in their right mind would start to tinker and dismantle the pathways Sheens had in place.
Faalongo I think it was at south’s had him figured out

So if we have not technically released him yet, will that mean he will be back at camp Concord, or do we pay him out and let him become a KFC gold frequent card holder. I guess the Cows will some how balance the books

It won’t be a formality if the paperwork’s wasn’t done. We will still have Lucy on our books and will be liable for his wages.

And if that’s the case then, and only then should management receive a bollocking. I know Lee reads the forum here and am confident he shares the same level of compassion and concern for WT that our remaining fan base does… more tough decisions than merely releasing Luciano will need to be made though.

That isn't what that phrase means? If something is "just a formality" it means the action will not interfere with the agreed outcome. If Tigers already signed the release papers, then it is "formalised", and if nothing will prevent both parties signing the release papers soon then it is "a formality".

I hoping it’s not of course!

Only issue I see, Is that his management has been asked to request a release - Been granted it immediately and organised it...
Then passed that info onto the Cowboys, And they've gone - Hang about...
What money are you assuming he'd being paid and from who?

I'd suggest it's back end that hasn't been clarified and now the manger is trying to back track and shift blame because he's left his client with no guaranteed income.
We'll be an easy target to point blame toward.
