The NRL ratifies contracts, cowboys say can't do then lucy stays on our books, wr jumped the gun before everything was official, we have to honour that previous contract, only avenue is to sue cowboys for being dummies šŸ˜
Not necessarily. If the Cows say can't do, I'd wager legally if LL approached us for a release and we granted it, then LL is simply now a free agent

A lot of people seem to be missing the point. We had no arrangement with or contract with NQ. Our contractual agreement was with LL to play with us until the end of 2022. He or his manager requested on several occasions for a release from that contract. On the 14/6 after the third request for a release we obliged his request to release him from his contract with us. End of story. LL, his manager and NQ can jump up and down all they want but unless they can produce evidence that there was a contractual agreement between WT, LL and cows that shows we couldn't release him until they were ready then they can whistle dixie.
We are saying the same thing 🤣

Lee has moved quickly for a reason.

He’s a lawyer, it’s critical that he feks his opponent over. It’s what he does everyday.

If he has blown this, it’s the last straw.

But I think the chances of such an error or misjudgment by Lee in this matter, are remote.

If we win this, and we will, hopefully ciraldo will be impressed.
quiet u agitator

Did you watch the Seinfield episode when George quit and then came back the next day. Apparently Larry David did that as well.

This sounds exactly like that. I quit but I then release I don't have any income and go back to work.

Surely the NRL doesn't ratify releasing players. That doesn't make any sense.

I don’t think the nrl ratify releases!

The cows promised him the Clive Churchill and he fell for it.

Not up to us to check their financials.

That one of the reasons they do it, to make sure a club doesn't go under financially and also to keep them under the cap.
It's a new contract/condition if it is taken up early.

It’s not our fault the bonehead cowboys accountant forgot to factor in Valentine and Tammas into their cap.

The flip is probably still working out Thurstons sign on fee.

Using a calculator should be a rule.

Someone up there forgot to carry the two, because many Queenslanders are born with an extra finger or two.

How could you forget how much cash you had to sign a player for half a year? I mean it’s not $3.50 is it?

I think we are ok.

If Vlandys wants to rescue them, every club will be after their own Lucy.

In the meantime, we sign the Release and run off into the night as though our lives depended on it. Pretend not to know who Lucy and the cows are. Never met them before in our lives. I like our style.

A bit like our team some times!

I tell you now Lee is an extremely successful lawyer. When you talk about big dongas in the workforce he has one of the biggest.

I spent 7 or 8 years working FIFO from Sydney to the Pilbara in Western Australia and as a result spent a bit of time living in a donga.

I can tell you now, that just like Lee, dongas are over rated and bigger doesn't really make it better.

This is pretty much spot on.
Luch and his management requested the release, They have made a number of requests through out the year. On this occasion the request was granted.

This has nothing to do with NQ. All between Tigers and Luch.

The part i would assume is.
NQ say to Luch's manager if you can get an early release we are happy to take him on at $$
I would say they didn't think tigers would say Yes at this time.
And here we are

That is total rubbish from 360 - bit more WT bashing. LL and NQ have requested a release on 3 occasions. If he or his manager requested a release and we gave it to him there is no onus on us for anything that eventuates afterwards.
Unless of course the release agreement had conditions, like Luc agreeing to terms with NQ.

I don’t claim to know that but that’s what 360 were saying.

Can you explain the stuff up. I just can't see how it's a stuff up and worst case the stuff up is so tiny.
The stuff up would be if we announced his released etc before we signed the paper work. That would really make us look like a basket case of a club. Especially as others have said when our chair is Lawyer.

Sort it soon. I'm going to run out of popcorn!
Never a dull moment around this circus. Clowns everywhere. Rats scurrying hither and thither.
But where is the guy in the Top hat? Can never find him when you need him.

What paper work do we have to sign ? I've never heard of this paperwork.

There has to be some form or something or legal requirement. Someone has to know it or be able to look it up. I tried. I couldn't see anything. I've never hard of it in 25 years of working.

The way it was explained on 360 is, Luc says to WT he’d like a release to take up a deal with NQ (the condition).

The Tigers agree to the release and announce it (too soon)

The deal with NQ is now the sticking point. Cap/terms etc.

If true, no idea why we rushed the announcement?? Not surprised but.

It would be something thing similar to resignation letter. In jobs were are a contract is in place or in other type of contract you need to request release in writing and the release needs to be accepted.
Now unlike our chair i am not a lawyer and dont know if the release needs to be accepted in writing or if a verbal acceptance is sufficient. But without seeing LL contract we are all speculating.
This is were Mr Bryden needs to come out and clarify..

Maybe a better way to look at this is let's see what happens. I don't see any proof that we've done anything wrong, it doesn't make sense to me and no one seems to know what legal or other requirement we haven't fulfilled.

You'd think the details of this stuff-up will be available pretty soon if it's an issue.

My bet is the paper work stuff up is as realistic as any supposed benefit to us.
