Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

This was posted on the Sharks' forum. Don't know who is in the know!

Apparently Dykes is a done deal at the Tigers according to those in the know at Wests.
Didn't The POM originally post that he was all but signed for 23 and we were hoping to get him for the rest of 22? My guess is that someone from the Sharkies forum has visited here and reported that post. I know a few of ours visit other forums to gather info (and for a laugh). So rumours upon rumours, by the looks.

I'd deadset be signing him to play 6 if we can get him to come across. Brooks and Nofo can head for the exits.

1. Laurie
2. Tupou
3. Doueihi
4. Kepaoa
5. Maumalo
6. Dykes
7. Hastings

Jess Colquhoun is going to be a good player for the Sharks. He's re-signed of course but he comes from a strong footballing family via Edmund Rice College, West Wollongong and Collegians.

Obviously $$$ dictates who we target, but personally I would be looking at:

Ryan Sutton, Raymond Faitala-Mariner, Jackson Topine, Nikora, Franklin Pele, Kevin Proctor, Sione Fainu, Jorge Taufua, Ryan Matterson, Tom Opacic, Angus Crichton, Lachlan Lam

And retain:

Jock Madden, Tommy Talau

Obviously we all have a different take/value, but what I think it does show is that there is not a lot out there. Parra, Melbourne and the Dolphins will also be trying to do the same. Players (managers) have the upper hand atm.

One thing in our favour is our newly declared development club status, which means we should have the most money in our cap available for a few high value targets, seeing as how most of club should be "kids" on lower money.
Sorry, but no way in the world would I even think about thinking about considering Matterson.

With that sort of thinking no wonder we are were we are , the clubs not signing Sunday school people , we need mongrels up front
there's being mongrels in a forward pack, and then there's lucky not to be doing a truckload of time in Rikers for kidnapping and assault.....bit of a difference

They won’t be condescending. I like to see what you thinking is after your family have been terrorised with a home invasion. Anyway still no to Lodge for me.

Matterson fills a position of need for us though: backrow. I think now that Madge is gone he would come back. Of the backrowers on the "off contract" list, there's not a lot of quality. Ignoring his "exit strategy", he's one of the better ones available.

You can already scratch William kei off our roster gave the game away 3 weeks ago. Was told by McDonnell he won’t be going any further so he gave it away.
Lucky to make it as far as he did, honestly.

Surely he could go to the UK tho.

Not sure demps, only know hes given it away may pop up somewhere in the future
