Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Oh don't worry. I wasn't singling you out because you're far from alone on this forum when it comes to the ridiculous thinking that this club is somehow above signing good players who also happen to have a bad history. We are in no position to pick and choose.
Ok googled it. Didn’t take long, but the answer is none.
Sorry for being so condescending but I thought I’d go down to your level of thinking.

No we're not because in case you been living under a rock for the last 11 years, we've have been a borderline joke and missed out on almost every major player we've gone for.

Are you being deliberately ignorant or does that come naturally for you? He was pretty much a rookie when he was here and has become a significantly better player and to pretend that he's average shows how much you pay attention. No one suggested Lodge is a saviour but he is a player that we need.

He’s average. No reps? Multiple clubs. Probs everywhere he goes.
Obviously you know better though.
Anyway still no to lodge for me.

Oh right because it's the fault of a rookie Matt Lodge that we didn't reach the finals. How silly of me.

What wisdom you have brought to this discussion.

(That's all sarcasm just in case you couldn't tell because based on that ridiculous argument, you're obviously not too bright)

If the decision is to be announced as early as next week it's probably not CC. He's got his hands full right now with Ivan's health issues and probably won't want to do anything that might disrupt the Riffs finals run. Hope I'm wrong.

My sarcasm is born from you being condescending. But if you wanna know I have said it once before and deleted it.
I have been been involved in home invasions and watched a man wet himself he was so scared. This guy did the same to 2 women and when they found safety he smashed his way into a family home beat the man and terrorised his wife and kid hiding in the bathroom saying I am going to kill you. You ever been involved with something like that? Coz I tell you first hand how that ruins peoples lives for ever, some do not get over it. The man who wet himself never leaves his house, it’s been 25years. So when you say you want someone like that at this great club that I was born into yeah I start to think this guy has not paid the price he should’ve for what he did and I don’t want here. This is not a football skill decision (although he is still average), this is one of the few times I am making a moral decision. And when it comes to my intelligence, well I can’t spell but I can add up really well. No bills, work from home on big $$$, and retired from terrorism.
Anyway still a No to lodge for me.
This will not be up long as I will be deleting it. How’s Robin these days.

I've my own experiences in being assaulted by three men whilst walking home from school so I do have experience in similar thing like that which is why I can sympathise why you wouldn't want him here. There's no denying the guy is a piece of sh#t human but he's been convicted, given a punishment (yes I agree, it was inadequate and he deserved far worse) and has since been approved to return and has played for multiple clubs.

To call him average is wrong and not based in reality for anyone who has watched him play. He would bring aggression and go-forward to a forward pack that is severely lacking both of those thing.

You can make all the moral decisions you want but at the end of the day, this club will continue to have piss all success if it makes its decision based on morals. You try to get the best players available who can contribute to areas of the team that are lacking which is why Lodge should be signed. I don't want him here but I do think he would benefit the team in terms of results which is what the club is sorely lacking.

The Roar 1 hour ago.

Adam Doueihi has declared he wants to play in the halves long term at Wests Tigers setting up a looming squeeze of three playmakers into two positions. Doueihi will make his long-awaited return from his ruptured ACL on Sunday against Canterbury, after 10 long months of rehab.
The Lebanon star will come off the bench and expects to play limited minutes in the backline at CommBank Stadium, as he settles back into full fitness.

But he has made no secret of his desire to claim back the Tigers No.6 jersey. Doueihi was the easily the club’s best last year before his late-season injury, before Jackson Hastings arrived and partnered Luke Brooks this season. “Long-term I definitely see myself in the halves. No.6 or No.7,” Doueihi said. “I probably prefer No.6. Anywhere in the halves down the track is where I see I will be most comfortable.”

Doueihi, Hastings and Brooks are all off contract next year, with a crucial decision ahead on how the Tigers best manage the trio. Hastings had initially been brought to the club with the thought he could be used as a ball-playing lock, which potentially remains an option.
Doueihi meanwhile said there was no chance he himself would fill that kind of role, but was yet to speak interim coach Brett Kimmorley or head of football Tim Sheens over his long-term role.
