Wests Tigers Coaches

Maguire was responsible for the squad. Squad is shit, Maguire is shit....
I have over 20 different teams in place all over qld and northern nsw. If any of them don't do their job and I can't fix it, I get the ass.
Accountability.
It also needs to flow up the ladder as well
The club has been like cryptonite to quality players since inception. Two respected coaches and money and we still can't attract players, and watch decent players get out at first opportunity and not replace them. There is not one squad in the NRL that you could confidently say is worse than ours and until that changes the club can employ and sack as many coaches as they like but the results will be the same and that's a club issue.

Madge may have had bad results but at least he demanded change, thats what has been needed....what about the previous 7 years with no finals, close but no cigar with players paid big money and little input....Madge isnt the only one to put all the blame on,look at the bigger picture than just pointing out Madge....

I don't think anyone is saying Madge is the only one to blame.
If anyone is saying that they're wrong. But to say he wasn't also a problem for us is wrong as well.

We have some massive issues at the club & unless the club structure changes we will for a very long time.

Whilst he demanded change & was driving this we also are now at the lowest point the club has ever been on field performance wise with still the same problems the club has had before.

Maguire had plenty of time and $ to assemble a squad. He didn't and obviously the WTs believe that as well.
The club has been on a rebuild since Sheens got sacked the first time and no coach has been able to assemble a squad capable of playing finals footy.
Sheens is talking three years time already before the next coach. The finger pointing at Maguire that you have become fixated on is no different to the Brooks blaming that you are so defensive of - both victims of / part of the problem but not singularly responsible.

Nah. As I no longer have a footy team to support my new hobby is predicting the Wests Tigers next FU.
Pretty tiresome. You are free to do what you want, but death riding the organisation makes the forum an increasingly negative place. IMO there has to be some form of optimism, some form of hope, otherwise there's no point supporting this club in 2022.

For example they sacked the coach after 3.5 seasons of decreasing returns. Some people are upset by this, some are not, and whilst the situation is definitely complicated, it cannot be argued that Tigers were on a winning trajectory, so sacking the coach is an understandable move.

Since then the team has arguably performed worse and Tigers do not have an immediate replacement ready-to-go (nor, for that matter, do Bulldogs or Warriors). So now the criticism has switched to the playing group, the administrators (though you yourself have never wavered in ongoing repetitive criticism of Pascoe and/or Lee) and death-riding potential new coaching appointments.

There is a big difference between the mindset of "I hope Tigers sign a positive Head Coach to lead us forward" versus "Why would any coach EVER sign for us, we are rabble, fold the joint". I am hopeful Tigers will make decisions to appoint a new on-field leader to improve the player performances and attract new signings. Of course there is a significant chance the new coach will not be able to do this, but, again, I'd rather hope for positive outcomes.

Honestly if I felt as consistently negative and critical of the club as some folks on here appear, I'd walk away from footy for a while at least. It just wouldn't be any good for my health, to be in a constant negative frame of emotional mind about football.

Just let it play out people. No sense speculating and wringing your hands over it.
Agree …. but for good of all concerned we need answer from CC very soon so that we can get the coach question done and dusted and then focus on getting on with the job of recruitment and retention.
From what I saw on the weekend there is a lot of deadwood to move on by Sheens and co.
Another bloody rebuild I’m afraid to look forward to.
At from where I see it ….. the only way is up …. but boy these past few seasons have been a disappointment.

I’m positive about how shit we are right now. Feels like every day we get closer to one of the tossers in charge being held accountable. Why stop after 3-4 years of banging on?!

Btw, club strikes again, putting an ultimatum and deadline to Ciraldo.
I have no problems with this happening...
We are a business and need to get going so your either in or out..
I don't know how long this deadline is but assume he has had a few weeks and if his still unsure maybe his not the right coach for us.

He is a smart man and would of been thinking about this for a while now so we move to option 2 before that's gone. I also think we want to start extending players like Hastings , AD , Laurie before we lose them..
As long as its not Kimmorley I will be happy

Well said mate …. I agree totally.
Coach had to go.
And the players we let go had to go ….. and I’m sure that more sackings on the way.
Way I see it the Club admin has done everything to try to move this lot forward ….
We are getting results in first two grades that we should expect given the players we have available.
Need some luck in picking the right Coach/ players to take us forward.
Sometimes you just need to intentionally break the old jar and buy a new one to see if it fits better.

The deadline is to make them look remotely better when he declines the offer. No way is he coming.

Club admin appointed the coaches who recruited those players. Club admin was also in attendance at recruitment meetings.

Club admin is the problem.
