Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Completely agree about Tapine,he would be the one person i would be chasing hardest to turn our puerile pack around and put starch into their performances
Exactly Jad, you throw in Tapine and another workaholic to go with Kori and Papa and you've got a top forward pack.
It has to be our priority right now.
If those sort of players can be coaxed to the tigers with noddy in charge then we'll survive till another coach becomes available.
Shoring up these players is paramount otherwise Kori and Papa's tenures will be wasted imo.

I know how it is.

Doesn’t mean it’s right.

We need fighters in our club on and off the field, guys who will wear bruises and stand up to unfair treatment.
Put your hand up Baggers, I'll be right behind you waving the flag.

Jack Murchie with the Warriors may be a good second row pick up. He is a Far South Coast junior from Moruya. I believe he was a junior kangaroo rep.
Why even try we will just get beaten out at the last minute then end up with Cheekam and Woods returning to the club while we compete against our selves for there signature and blow our cap but dress it up and spin it as a huge recruitment win. Not even joking it how our club roles.

Wouldn’t it be good if someone at WT would jump on the blower and ask how Melbourne can afford another top line player despite the very public knowledge that Munster wants a lot more $.

They won’t the snowflakes.
Might be because they’re losing an origin back rower - 2 Nz rep forwards… could help them out buying another forward you’d think

Hard to recruit without a coach unfortunately..
I think Dogs will have these halves with Dogs chasing Hastings.
I pray the club is trying to lock up Hastings ASAP as him and AD would be great together.
not sold on AD at all as a 6 for our club
very worried Hastings might end up at dogs
we need to be ruthless and make offers player are not able to refuse
conservative 1 million Brooks and 600k Douhie use the 1.6 to sign Burton and bump up Hastings
make it happen

There are about 6 or 7 loser clubs, and the only thing they can do about it is start winning.

The style or timing of press comments ends up being irrelevant in the face of wins/losses. NRL supporters of other clubs won't start respecting you just because you do or don't make certain statements in public.

Bulldogs haven't earned respect just because Gould denies everything, including publicly-confirmed facts.

There is almost no such thing as a private rejection in NRL - the media will find out and they will print the story. Michael Chammas is already saying today that Ciraldo has definitely been pursued by the Bulldogs, despite Gould's protests to the contrary. (and don't forget Gould is aligned with Fairfax who own SMH and Ch 9).

I don't realistically see that if Ciraldo turns down Tigers and Bulldogs, that Tigers come out worse some how because we admitted in public that we were pursuing Ciraldo.

Because the only alternative, apart from a fantasy world where Tigers speculation never hits the media, is to pursue very modest or ordinary targets, i.e. never aim high, and then be less likely to receive a public rejection. For example I am certain if Tigers pursued Steve Georgallis to replace Madge, they could have done a very quiet very fast deal, and it wouldn't be a "PR nightmare", but we'd have signed a very ordinary coach.
Not really. We are by far the biggest loser in the league. It's daylight between us and other clubs.
Some clubs suck for a few years then rebuild and make the 8, compete for a while and maybe fall away again.
We are the only club that fails year after year after year.

Why did we have to shout it from the rooftops that we were after CC, that he was our number one option? Must clubs do their business on the low, we pursue every player or coach in the public domain. It's unprofessional and makes us look pathetic.
