Next Player To Debut for Tigers?

Speaking of him, hasn’t even been sighted in RMC or the Sydney Shield. Is he in the Witness Protection Program? Kid seemed a real prospect, now he’d struggle to get a start selling the game day doubles…
His dad is on here under numerous names and I haven't seen him post anything about LD but I'm sure Warren "Big Mac" McDonell isn't a fan so I'd say he's on a do not enter list with a picture of him dropping a bomb, at the gates 😁

just revisiting this thread now that Pole has been named to debut. this is the beginning of hopefully a number of the new breed making their way into firsts between now and the end of next year. very exciting time if we manage to develop them properly and keep them around.

Are they going to be any better than players that will debut over the next year or two for 16 other clubs? That’s the key part, do they stand out. Just remember over the last few years people have been excited to see the debuts of players like Mikaele, Seyfarth, Kapoa, Talau, Simpkin etc. They all had the same amount of hype before they debuted. Now they are they players most would like to see cleaned out. Mikaele already has been.

I class Matamua as a generational talent. I believe Jordan Miller, Tallyn Da Silva and Lachlan Galvin from our Harold Matts side are very similar. there are a lot of other great juniors, but for now they are just that. Tannous, Kautoga, Scolari, Tupou, Vaihu, Tumeth, O'Kane and Solomone Saukuru should all become regular first graders at WT providing we develop them correctly.

So few make it.

Seyfarth, Kapoa, Talau & Simpkin could all come on still. It's way too early to write them off.

I

Point well made but not sure it is accurate. I don't think the NSW forwards were smashed - they just didn't win the ruck battle. They were outwrestled and slowness of the play the ball stifled the attack. You have to wonder though - if Cleary is the number 1 half and Freddy is a footballing genius why didn't they change the point or depth of the attack to nullify the wrestling?
Well beaten in every aspect is Smashed mate....
And they were very well beaten.

We can agree to disagree on the verb to describe forwards battle, however, we agree that the forwards were outplayed. The point of the post was if Cleary and Fittler are so good why didn't they change the point of attack during the game to overcome the problem? A bit more depth and width in attack could have prevented some of the pressure. NSW simply didn't adapt, the forwards or the halves, and they lost by 4 points. Blaming the referee after the fact doesn't make up for continuing to do the same thing time and time again.

Weight of expectation is killing these guys. Talau for example would shine in the Storm set up because he’d be a handy young player surrounded by winners. When they come into a losing WT team and have to be instantly impactful, it’s bound to fail. Need to cherry pick these senior players Sheens speaks of. Good luck to Pole, but don’t expect too much.
